Jetlegend vs BVM F16 comparison
Has anyone had a closeup look at both these modells
I really don't want the PNP version ( prefer knowing what I am putting in) and want to know if there is any quality differences between the 2 models
Especially structural builds
thanks

no difference except the price, I know bvm do a few small things to make them feel better about over charging for a jet legend f16 but I do know they all fly well. save your self a few £ and get one from your local jet legend dealer zedjet in the uk are great to deal with

Izzy they are the same plane. BVM just goes the extra mile to ensure success in the end. BVM has some MODS for the aircraft like better springs for the main gear and weight to balance the stabs and a new carbon fiber cross brace for the main wing spar. Original wing spar brace was wood and I managed to crack that one. I don't think the JL version has a brace at all. Got allot of flights on the BVM and love it and all the servos and electronics have been perfect so far.

Someone on this thread ALWAYS has an axe to grind against BVM. The plane is only available in the U.S. through BVM and we absolutely love ours. Very lightweight, strong and beautiful craftsmanship. We like them so much that we are also trying to get a Cougar now. You're almost guaranteed a success story with their planes.

I have never had the JL and have read these posts for years about similarities and differences. I have built every jet I have ever had until this BVM F16 PNP because I never trusted another "builder" - which may be a bit obsessive on my part. Anyway, the plane is a little expensive (BVM) but as my Kingcat and Ultrabandit have been reliable machines, so has this one. Granted this is more of a hybrid-BVM plane but it has been fun with the least set-up time on any plane I have ever had. So I am pleased with it in the air and on the ground. I am sure the JL version is just as good but the surprise of a PNP that really was PNP was fun too.
I fly BVM/ MIBO but I don't have a dog in the race.
Good luck with you choice,
Dave

Just realized that the videographer actually labeled it JL! This is a BMV F16 PNP. Even confused the attendees so it must be close, LOL.

You can actually get the J/L F16 in PNP format now as well (outside the USA).
http://www.jetlegend.com/index.php?Page=115 I have no idea what a "smork" system is but I think I want one!
It IS the same aircraft.. its not heavier and it does have a wooden wing spar brace. Yes there's more work to do before the detailing begins but at least I get to choose what servos etc I use. If I had the BVM offering I know I'd be pulling all the servos to check their installation anyway.
I wonder if, for the US guys, BV would consider offering them to different levels of completion eg. without servos?
A few shots of mine..

Just want to point out, every chance I get, how when I stated an early Jet Legend F-16 I had as having BVM quality build and hardware some BVM reps and Purplecoholics laughed at me.
This is what I call an "in your face" moment. Yes.....I am laughing internally. Anyway, Im glad Bob Violet finally agreed with my comment. You are welcome Bob.

Just received mine and unpacked it yesterday. And since I'm in Colo i had to do the ANG 50th Anniversary Minute Men scheme. Looking forward to getting it airborne, but have to finish Cougar first. As for it costing more well, when i call BVM with a question or problem someone answers the phone. Not so much in my experience with others.

If people with jetlegend and bvm models could take pics of the inside and formers we could compare
seemsthatnthe formers are slightly different with lightening holes on the bvm model
so if you have a model pls upload and share
thanks

With the BVM one you don't have to ask questions and wonder if it's going to be high quality, fly right, and be supported.
The biggest differences for me are: 1) I know I can trust what BVM is selling ... its been thoroughly tested, instructions developed, improvements offered, 2) I don't have time to build a kit though I admit I spent a ton of time on the scale details of mine, 3) when I'm at a jet meet and lose a pin, etc the BVM tent is about 10 steps away and I'm back flying, 4) if I have a larger problem I know BVM is going to stand behind the product and support me.
Haters gonna hate. To each their own.

first of all its your F16 that gave me the "need" for a F16 , until now did not want one
the element of PNP increases the amount by quite a bit and for those that dont have time or dont want to build thats great , and I am all for it ,
but taking into consideration that i also get enjoyment from the build , i tried ontactacting BVM to maybe get the kit and retracts ,(however they dont sell it except PNP)
If I was living in the US , and had BVM support my decision might have been like yours , but living in a small country where neither planes have support and basically we are on our own to communicate with either manufacturers ,
paying an additional $ 3000-4000 for same model ( or very similar) seem dis proportionate IMHO
so back to step 1 .......
thanks
BTW Haters have nothing to do with it , just some logical sense

Izzy,
Photos as requested. The elevator one was taken a while ago before I finished it off (I also had a little help from a guy with the BVM badged one and confirmed it is the same).
Hope this helps.
