Default CARF 1:4 L-39 Albatros

Maiden flight but flown like it had taken to the air 50 times before. Awesome jet.

SG L-39 owned by Simon Miller, was a "team" build with Birdy, myself doing the main construction and Roger M, doing the cockpit and final sort out. Was my first SG L-39 flight and it was all you can imagine, perfectly powered by a P-180Rxi.

Hi Dave

as you might remember, I lost my hawk. I was going to get another one but I like the L39 as well. Which one would you go with if it was you?

Thanks, Behzad

Behzad

Sorry, been at a trade show in the UK.
They both fly great, the big L-39 are not as common as the big Hawk models, so there is more 'interest' in the L-39 as people have seen lots of Hawks!
Its a real toughy...I guess I would have the L-39, I have a small Aw 1/7th scale one I built back in 2001 that I fly occasionally and I still enjoy the shape. Both aerobat well, knife edge easily, and at this size land slowly.

I think the answer is we need both...;-)

This video is long but covers the majority of the wing assembly including the light kit in the wings.
