I don't know where I saw it but are you going to use those little BVM hatch latches? That hatch looks to be about 3 1/2 feet long and 18 inches wide?

I would be worried that aero forces will yank that canopy right off if it is only held on by the 1.8 inch long bit of wire coming out of those hatch latches.

Matt the stock is two rods that do the same thing, no reports of this not holding.

Back at it on the equipment install, I got the power system mounted and also put in the vents in prep for tank install. I did end up adding a brass tube to my clunk line, no reason to have a doubt.
I also took the tail off and added the pipe mount supports, once this is cured I will start on the rudder alignment pin and the pipe mounting. I think I may redo my latch system its just to hard to get on and off. It works great but the bvm latches have real small arms to pull back and Its hard to work, I might buy something that has a taller arm that will stick out further so I can get a grip on. Or I may just make one.
Another note I found matching paint! its in the video and it matches perfect so I bought a can of spray paint in it as well. I painted the nose door area and it looks like its part of the skin , I will also remove the carbon decal on the wing hatches and paint them to match. (MOD ALERT) Tank is much stronger now with the carbon wrap

Back at it today, im a little slow going these days due to being tired from work. I tell you its really hard to live in todays military, not the same Army I joined over 16 years ago. I tell my minions on regular basis "I don't wake up this angry, you guys make me this way!" Or should I say this unit does. Anyway started on all the alignment stuff, the rudder has more steps so I started there. I installed a blind nut for the back 4mm bolt and marked/drilled the hole for the alignment pin in the front. I also cut a small hole for the rudder servo wire, next I will get the stabs. They will be faster since it doesnt require any hysol, the stabs are held in place by four screw in the tube itself. Last night I did a few internal things, I installed the tank and clunk lines followed by the bulkhead festo fittings. Nice and clean! (MOD ALERT) I did open some area on the side of fuse, this area had no ply and is a direct opening to the wheel bays so this will greatly improve air flow to the turbine.
Video is up loading as well

Keith, could you till me the length on the nose oleo strut please. I am going a different way than your gear. Mains and wheels the same (ebrakes). Retracts Electron ER50 and Electron nose strut and wheel to match (it is a flat tyre) want a flat nosewheel to match the speed wheels from Airtech. Nose wheel size as well please.

Great thread as well. Keep up the great post.

The long part is 6 1/2 inches down to the pivot point, from the pivot point to the bottom of the wheel its 4 1/4 inches.

Feels like I didnt get anything done tonight but I did get the wing pin holes cut and the retaining screw install so the main wings are done and so is the rudder. I did glue the stab alignment tubes in but did not cut the holes yet, I will do this tomorrow. I started working on a small equipment board for the gear valve and the up6 brake valve. Tomorrow I will finish up the stabs and then its the home stretch. Turbine/pipe install followed by the rest of the electronics and its done! I should be done by Sunday!!! yeah!!! anyway small video is uploading
The problem is I seem to take forever deciding the layout of equipment

I now have the tail section with a Thrust Vectoring pipe all set up and ready to go. This is a build that I am doing for a friend.

FenderBean,
Sorry about posting the above in your build thread. There was a Rebel thread about the use of thrust vector usage in a Rebel Pro and when I did a search for that thread, I now see that I picked the wrong thread. Didn't mean to post this in your building thread. I am sorry.

Id be interested in hearing exactly what made you feel this way and what brands you were dealing with. I ask because I'm just getting back into it and want a heads up as to what to avoid.

This is build looks good and seems to be going well so hopefully your experience is changing.

Part of the problem many of us have run into is the long wait time to receive our models. The last model I ordered before getting the Rebel Pro took nearly 6 months to ship out to me. Order the Rebel Pro from Elite Aerosport and was told the model would ship in 6 to eight weeks, got it in seven. Pablo and the Elite team provided great communication.

Thanks for that. Difficult to predict when shipments from China will enter the US and clear customs... Really don't think I'd get my feathers ruffled over a 6 month wait as I'd probably be expecting that.

I'm more interested in hearing from the OP about the quality of the kits and the damage from the factory....What is so bad that he made the statement I quoted? And who is doing it. Call them out as I want to avoid them.

I ordered a Shockwave from Elite Aerosports and got it within a week - which given I'm in the UK is quick! Packaging was fantastic and given it travelled from Thailand to the US and the US to the UK, packaging correctly is really important. I've also recently received a new Comp arf Flash. There were foot prints on the Flash box but it's package so well that despite some idiot going for a walk on it there was no damage what so ever. The quality of both kits is very good.
In contrast I have a skymaster plane here which I'm helping a friend out with. While it's ok, the quality is still clearly not on par with the other planes I have here from the likes of EA, comp arf and Tomahawk.

Evening, I took Friday night off from building and got started this morning. The building is done, all the wings are on and done, the pipe and turbine are mounted so now comes the fun stuff! Still on par to finish up tomorrow, it just depends on how fast I can decide where im putting everything this could take weeks LOL I ran into a small problem getting the stab wing tubes on the last two inches since the stab guide tube was warped at the end but I them on. The super duper hi-teck turbine thrust pipe alignment tube worked great, I used it on the Avanti as well.
I have a few videos uploading as well got to forgive the vent video, cheers!

Sunday fun, since I plan to keep this thing for long time I wanted to make turbine pull maintenance very easy. I have mounted everything where it can be easily inspected or removed. I mounted the UAT on top but I was pondering if having to pull the fuel from below up to the UAT might cause some increased pump voltage. I could just be over thinking it, but I have always tried to keep everything in the fuel system inline.
I also removed the canopy latches and installed the stock canopy release, I should have just done this from the get go. Simple and effective!
The fuel valves are mounted to a ply mount on the side walls and held to the ply with two screws as well as the pump its held in with two screws. Cheers!
