Maur, I tried to use the shortest possible on the jet with large control horns. I didn't want to worry about flutter at all. Everything I used was less than 1 inch, I used generic metal arms I got from the hobby shop.

Ian G's Rebel Pro on its first day out. Great flying model.
JC 200 turbine. Ian's usual immaculate build performed perfectly.

Bought this along with me from Jet power this year, all set for maiden. PB Mercury. Rhino 200 SE for thrust.
Build was straight forward, but fair bit of work. Electrons were great to install, 1/5 the time of air retracts.

Guys, any tip on how to install the screws to hold the rudder servo? I think Mauro must have been drunk when he came up with that -.-

I used servo screws with an Allen wrench so I could used the Allen wrench with the angle end. Just go slow

Don't have either one, I'll see what I can find, thanks for the tips!
I thought I could use a small screwdriver, put it inside and turn it with pliers, but I was wrong. Not enough pressure would just ruin the screw head.

Test flew her yesterday.
6 flights, all systems worked well.
Would anyone have the gain settings if using the I gyro. had around 40% gain on the rudder and would start to oscillate around the yaw axis, mostly during the 2nd half of the flight.
increased the airspeed factor from 3 to 4 on the rudder, and the problem was much better. Not sure if should increase to 5 or decrease gain.
Thanks.

I had the same with my igyro, I bumped the setting down to about 37 it was perfect there.

Hi Fender,

You think just 3% reduction will make the difference? Thanks anyways will try it next time.

Eventually managed to stick to my original plan, instead of a phillips driver I used a smaller slotted screwdriver and the servo's original screws... took a while but worked!
Now I am experiencing another issue with the flaps linkage, which turns out to be way too flimsy.
While the stock 3mm threaded rod seems sufficient for all other surfaces, if I apply some force on the fully deployed (15cm) flap, the rod just bends all the way until the slit in the plywood it passes through...
Do you guys think a nice wrap of carbon tow would be enough to cure this?

Or do I need to use a carbon tube as well, or go titanium?

The threaded rod should be replaced or use a snug fit carbon tube over it to strengthen it.

Finally finished mine a few days ago and got the first few couple of flights in...
Final weight at 15.5 kg + fuel. We often have wind here, landing it is quite challenging as it just doesn't stop flying, ever... I can literally stop it and simply pulling the elevator up it will fly again...
Here's a video, sorry it's a little boring but I didn't know I was being filmed, the interesting stuff came on the following flight ><

yeah I have noticed this as well, I think some folks add 1-3 mm of crow on the ailerons, I tried this but all it did for me was cause tip stall while still floating. not sure how that's possible but it did. I slowed down just like always and it just didn't want to drop but at a certain point it gets tippy.

After getting the gyro turned on finally it has become my favorite jet, and im not a sport jet fan but this one looks the best out of all the big sport jets and its fun to fly. Only issue if the gear leaks air in the down position and I cannot seem to find the problem.

Yes, as it is such a floater, I am considering a gyro myself to fly it in the strong winds we have here...
About the gear... just get electrons!

Is it Airtech gear? I had a problem with mine on my Shockwave leaking at the rod seals after a few flights so only leaked when the gear was down. New seals sorted it.

yelp that's the gear, not sure what you mean by rod seal. Is that the seal around the piston inside? I have had a couple people say they have had this issue as well. The elite guys always fix anything that pops up, I can pass the info to them.

I had a gear leaking on my Pro and found a small bit of metal shavings inside a cylinder after narrowing down where my leak was. I cleaned out the cylinder and relubed the "O" rings and I have had no problems since.

Yeah its getting time to start flying again, I always go through my models and check for issues before the season starts. I will pull the gear and check internals to see if I can find the problem.

Haven't flown my Pro since Kentucky Jets. Time to get it off the shelf, clean off the dusk, and get it back in the air.
