Default A Falcon 120 VERSION 4 from Australia???????

I have the opportunity to purchase a Falcon from a local member and like to inquire here if this version did or does exist??????
He gave some details today at a swap meet so maybe with these details it can help identify which version it actually is and
what if any mods and structure areas to look at in detail.
He said he ordered it from Australia, it is orange and white and the main gear wells came set for the shorter jet struts. He did mention that it
has carbon fiber but didn't say exactly where.
I plan on P80 for power and he thinks he does have a set of retracts for it. I wont be able to drive and view the ARF till after turkey day as im recovering from surgery
Any help gathering info on this version is greatly appreciated and what I will need to look for when I get to view the plane. This is a NIB ARF so nothing has been started
per the owners comments.

Get a Navy Cat ($430 no gear), it is a ARF, and can handle the P80 with
no mods.

I have considered the Navy Cat over a Turbinator and I may be able to get this Falcon for less than the going price of the Navy Cat. I really need to look at it and decide what manufacture it is and double check the gear that he has. The one that Austars has is even an upgrade over the navy cat and more than a Turbinator. Once I get to look it over, I will post pics here for further input.

After looking at the pictures of the J-10, F-16, and some of the other models offered by this company, it appears that these models are made by Flyeagle Jets.

Here are the pics he has sent me for the ARF he is offering. From the link he provided here, http://www.austars-model.com/super-f...on_g15934.html, He says it descripes a V4 and all the pics on the site are the same as RCJETSWORLD. The only thing I suspect different is the main struts and the fact he doesn't have the brake and wheel/struts that comes with a purchase from RCJEWT WORLD. SO..........for half the price, I just need to find a suitable set of struts and wheel/brakes. Can anyone verify this particular one in the pictures as to possible version? Im looking at DreamWorks for the questionable gear parts and weighing the additional purchase cost.

The original maker of the original falcon 120 was the Fly Model Factory in China. I also believe that they have made all the other variants. Are you getting this confused with Flyeagle Jet ?

This is not the same jet. The one in the video (The latest one) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghgC7gi53wY is all composite and the wings remove at the booms. The one in the pics above is the old version with full length wings that remove at the fuz and also does not look if it is full composite. The storey and evolution of the Falcon 120 is quite an interesting one with many twists and turns and several untruths

I don't think knowing the exact version is important, there have been a few variants with various changes.
I have known several people who have had these & they build up into a REASONABLE turbine model
but suffer a little more than the usual cheap, Chinese quality & design problems.

A friend gave me the Modelbau Tornado version of this model & it came with Spring Air retracts & sheet steel
trailing link undercarriage legs also marked Spring Air. May be an option to finish yours if you buy it.

Sam,
The plane you are showing is the FLY-MODEL Falcon 120 V2, $270 plus 30 shipping USA.
The guy selling the Navy Cat also sells this one when he has them in stock, and he is out of
California and handle all direct sells for FLY-MODEL. Springair has the trailing link gear/brake
set for this plane ($325) which is better than the set from FLY-MODEL. You can verify this
by contacting [email protected] or text to: (858) 248-6837. The plane is a great
flyer, and builds easy, I have had several powered from Ram 500, up to a Simjet 3000,
pushing 30 lbs, you have to manage throttle to stay below VNE. Hope this helps.

I built the orginal one from Nitro Planes while 3 of the my other buddy have the NavyCats. While I think the Carbonfiber is good for peace of mind, We never really saw any beniftis. The NavyCat retract blocks would rip out just as easy as the Nitro Planes V1. These planes fly great, just add a little wood around the retract blocks, and have fun!. My only issue with them was how much of a pain it was to take off the wings to transport. I drive a Chrysler Town and Country 2014 and you cant fit these birds inside with out dissabmley, but I did put it on my roof rack with zip ties for over a year! with no issues.

P80 are great, I got 2, they will make this bird come out a little heavyer as they P80 weights so much, more than most new motors, but a great motor I have my P80 in a Skymaster F86 and it flys and lands just like this Faclon 120.

I do recoment the trailing link strusts off grass.

My boy has over 300 flights on his with 100BX JetMuntan and Cortex gyro, its a blast, flys unlike any jet I have. There great to learn with, but when you move up to a F16 or such its a whole new learning curve.

I know that this is a Fly Model version 2 turbine now and was either use the the retracts that he is offering and then just buy the Spring Aire strut set with brakes. Really good deal considering.
Then Boomerang comes out with the Black Friday free shipping on the Turbinator which will save me 200$.......the fact that the turbinator can more easily be broken down for transport than the Falcon really is a big plus. My Kia Sedona may have issues with the falcon

Next owner plans on getting his waiver and most likely going to be back up again for sale.

She was good to me. I already miss her. Especially after purchasing servos for my Skymaster F-18. They cost more than the Turbinator!!!!! I have had both Version 3 "MBA Tornado" and the Turbinator.

Turbinator hands down.

Call me if you need some guidance. People here helped me and I am always willing to give back.....we can't be successful alone...

I am thinking of getting a Super Falcon 63" from Australia how is the turbine fixed and do you think it will be okay with a Wren 44 gold 4.5Kg thrust. I don't what a to do vertical flying and happy with a slow performance.

The 44 may be too small. Once rigged up... it's a little heavy. If you keep it very light, and fly only off a paved runway... it may get off the ground. I've seen one with a wren 54.... but most of us fly them with more than 15 lbs of thrust. I personally have an AMT 180 turned up to 18 Lbs, and my Falcon is about 20 lbs wet.

My Falcon is 7.8 kg empty. With a VT80 turbine it goes vertical from takeoff. So 80N is good, a 44 turbine too small.

It has a mount made from bent aluminium sheet.
Some downthrust is needed as otherwise the model will dive or climb with throttle change.
