We have had all of these jets at our club and I personally fly the DV8R. The plane is huge and has an awesome presents in the air. It is easy to fly but your info on the landing is correct. There is def some design flaws in the location of the landing gear on this jet. Some days I go out and grease every landing and other days it looks like its my first time landing a jet. The key is to get your speed way down coming in for a landing. The huge wing just wants to keep flying. There are a ton of tips and tricks in the forums that you can review to get a decent landing.
With that said, I had a Reaction 54 before that and every aspect of the flight envelope was fantastic with that jet. Not one bad habit and it was faster then the DV8R. With the options you listed above I would probably have to go with the Navy Cat/ Super FalconV3 after seeing everything fly and if I was starting back out. My buddy flies his Navy Cat all day long. It can be extremely slow and extremely fast!! It seems to be the perfect size and you cannot beat the price but the DV8R looks awesome in the air
You will be fine with any of those choices you have listed it just depends on your preferences.
Let me know if your still interested in a DV8R. I might have one for sale I've been thinking about another project down the road
Mike
Everyone's experiences are different, and opinions are just that, opinions!

It's already been said, but I'll say it again; Turbinator!

BOOMERANG1

I thought jets were a little boring until I see I can get into it for less that 10 grand lol.
I like the speed and how smooth they can fly. most like the sound. and getting older I would like to say I did get to fly a turbine model.
maybe I can find a good deal on a used one. if not its a xcailber or boomer. or dv8r maybe a reaction54 .

Sounds like exactly the same reasons I like them!

And, if you do tire of them, you can always sell it on.

Seen one rotate, immediately stall and crash here. Given what I saw, I would have to say it may not be very "new pilot friendly." It should not have stalled.

I'm the guy Len saw lose one. Jet has some issues. If you you buy one, contact Jordan Morse. He has a thread on RCU. There are things you need to know to prevent having the issues I had. I had the absolute worst experience with Chief of anything in 30 years of flying. I'm not going to go into details here, but I will NEVER do business with them again....you can't beat a boomer and, and Larry Roper is a great guy to deal with!

what is the usual. rebuild checkup costs
I see you fly with Jim Hiller and Billy D, USARCJets is a Jet Central dealer and can provide local support if needed, and the Jet Centrals have a life time warranty.

You may want to consider the Jet Central Rabbit (24 lbs) or the Cheetah (34 lb) if you plan on going to larger airframes in the future, I have seen the Cheetah in the DV8R which was flow by a former member of the Night Hawks, it flew great!, If you are worried about too much power, that is what the left stick is for....or you just dial it back if you have no left stick self control

If you do get into Turbines you are welcomed to come on over to Titusville PA to fly at our events, Jim and Billy can tell you about our field.

Jet guys will ship if your willing to pay what it takes. A good crate is gonna run you Atleast $125 in materials on the low end and freight restrictions due to weight and lengths will run in the $250 to $400 range depending on the companies you use. Most problems are that buyers want this absorbed in the jet. If your willing to pay for the jet and absorb the crating/shipping cost separately, they will ship. It's a negotiation point most shippers get tired of arguing about.

I have bought a few jets built and ready to fly and have put together some all new. Doing a skymaster f-18 now and I can tell you I could get a real good deal on a few jets advertised now!!!!! but it's a fulfillment deal for me....

I got my waiver with a turbinator and it was shipped to me crated. I had a buyer ready for his waiver and so I returned the favor and crated it for him. This jet had had 4 pilots waiver on it and she keeps moving around the country!! Lol

they are out there, you just need to make a few calls and talk about it. If you have patience, they will ship.

Heres my turbinator moving on to another needy home (

I have a Pilot Dolphin, 86 inch wing span with a Kingtech 100g. Flys great. I fly off grass and use flaps for landing only. It is super stable from lift-off to landing. Takes a little fine tuning of elevator trim with landing flaps, but other than that it flys like a super stable trainer.
