Kudos to the JPO team, district reps and those involved with the printing and distribution of the Contrails newsletter. High district participation, great event coverage and some new technical stuff made this issue a great read. The high number of excellent color photos made this issue more of a magazine than a newsletter.

For all of us at the JPO - THANKS!

The JPO is still out there, and we're pushing the boulder up the hill, bit-by-bit. This year, we've updated the turbine thrust rules and conducted a survey of waiver holders to get their opinions and inputs. Soon to come are the results of that survey, a new website, and a few other upgrades.

As always, comments, suggestions, and feedback is appreciated, all kinds!

I hope you all are aware that Contrails is the name of a publication associated with the United States Air Force Academy and has been for nearly 60 years.

I, personally, did not know that, but the JPO magazine has been called Contrails for years too. The Air Force Academy's "Contrails" doesn't appear to be a published work, just a manual for Cadets:

"All cadets must memorize their edition of the Contrails which contains important information on the Air Force Academy, The United States, the Air Force and the Association of Graduates. It also contains items of interest to the cadets such as famous quotes, poems and songs."

At VMI, we called that the "Rat Bible" (1st years at VMI are called "Rats").

I don't think there is much of a conflict...
