Thanks Chatty.
Have you ever known a model crash because the Tx battery became faulty during a flight? Being flat doesn't count because if you forget to charge your Tx it doesn't matter how many batteries it has.

Thanks Chatty.
Yes and No, the cells are connected parallel. If one has a problem the protection circuit shuts of the defective cell.
But after supporting Jeti radios for 5+ years we have yet to see problems with Tx packs.

your right harry, never heard of a crash where the Tx battery was the cause....but if not mistaken the 28x and new core both have dual battery systems... must be a reason to it.
guess the battery's in our hobby are still the weakest link.

Marketing. It sounds good.
If we've never known a Tx battery fault to cause a crash, to what problem is dual battery the answer? I would never fly a decent model on just one Rx battery, but the airborne battery and switch and connectors are in a very different environment to the Tx electrical system.

Autotrim is very valuable for Maidens, where you are holding the stick some direction for straight and level.. just get the plane going straight, turn on auto trim and watch the model it will require less and less pressure on the stick.. turn it OFF before you turn... so you will have a series of passes where you turn it on and off.. when its close, then use the bump method.

After I maiden a plane, I turn it off and use the conventional trim because if you bump the auto trim just messing around with the transmitter, it WILL auto trim whether the model is on or not.. SO for instance if you show the TX to someone and they accidentally turn it on and move the stick one bump it moves the trim

That said, when I finish a maiden or tune flight, I commit the trims to memory so that they are all Zero, and you can recover from a mistake that way.

Some guys use auto trim a lot, just turn it on.. touch trim it, turn it off.. Its really slick

If you are on the main page, it will announce AUTO TRIM ON, over and over as a safety feature while you are using it..

Bottom line, be straight and level and make corrections, turn it off.. Or turn it on, hold pressure until the model returns to level and the pressure comes off, turn it off

It usually takes me a couple passes per flight mode.
I might have to experiment a bit more with this function. Outside of maiden situation, to gain confidence with it.
I do a lot of test flight on 100 K USD + projects and kind of tend to go conservative on how I use my transmitter.
However, for me the trim joystick concept has been absolutely brilliant. A lot easier to access than regular trim switches or the radio buttons.
I have a specific setup with a square joystick. I will post pictures of this.

The hurricane Irma slowed us down. Finally this week the FCC lab in Florida got power back and we are for first time fully staffed in last 3 weeks.

Just to keep everybody updated, if somebody would like to see/play/fly with Jeti DS-24 and DC-24 in next two days we will be at the Joe Nall eWeek in South Carolina.

Radios are due next week, FCC still pending. Unfortunately there is nobody to call and push, the whole certification is just the team effort. The IRMA did not help us, our lab lost power for 10 days.

The R3 REX 900 is done and submitted, the FCC certification is expected any day

With the R3 REX we have decided to upgrade to R3 REX A20 with new 200mm antennas with balast.
Tests on both side of the pond shoved much more solid RF link.

And on the REX-3 and REX3-900 I have the same question. It was posted in June that these two passed FCC testing.

I surely don't mean to be a pain. Just would like a target date rather than the latest rumblings.

Thanks ZB.

No radio is perfect. Some come closer than others.

The track record on Jeti's timeline IS rumbling.

Rumblings for release dates, software updates, etc.....(not to mention the Jeti rep here in RCU that sometimes tickles the wrong way sometimes) is the price we will have to pay to use all the powerful features of the DS-24.

Life is full of compromise.

Hi,
On Esprit Tech homepage they write:

Jeti Duplex DS-24 2.4GHz/900MHz w/Telemetry Transmitter Only Radio (Pre-Order, Due Summer 2017...")

It seems they expect (due) DS-24 radio to available for delivery "Summer 2017".
I do not know what exactly month(s) that might be but since Esprit Tech is in US I suppose about June then?
Who knows, maybe earlier (or later).

/Bo

That's the million dollar question. If everything goes smoothly 4-6 weeks, if not 2-4 months.
