Jeti is still saying Sept release. I expect we will have an update on that when they are back from their summer holiday. I'm set up to start lab testing for FCC later this month.

FYI, Jeti has raised pricing on all radios. Those who pre ordered from North American dealers up to 7/31/17 are protected. All new pre orders are at the new pricing.

Jeti USA v4.24 Duplex DC-24 2.4GHz Radio System Highly Recommended Transmitter Update!!!

The JETI Duplex 2.4GHz EX System provides the modeler with high security, reliability and long range in combination with bidirectional communication and telemetry. This open system offers even third party applications the use of wide variety of sensors with advanced settings. Based on these countless possible variations is it impossible to test all of the available equipment/setup combinations.

Latest tests have shown, that while using DC-24 in Double Path mode, 24-channels, and large amount of telemetry data, the system may suffer a synchronization failure on the internal data bus. In addition to various new features, this has been recognized and fixed by this new software release, v4.24.

We recommend that you visit our download area and keep your system up to date.
UPDATE 4.23/4.24 (August, 2017)
Download Firmware DC/DS-24 v4.24

Jeti Firmware Updates

This update is just for DC-24 due to Hardware, there is nothing to be done on the DC/DS-14/16

Default ...2 weeks more

Wanted to order a DS-24. So I called Esprit last week and was told 2 weeks. This was on 8/30/2017.

Anyone know enough background that can back that up? Just curious.

Chris.

We will be calling customers next week, first batch will be here by the end of the month. The hurricane IRMA made mess of everything, we are still 1/2 staffed. FCC lab just got the power back ..... We picked up 2 tons of broken branches and leaves.

I had a full day with jeti technicians at Jet power discussing RF protocols, triple channel redundancy and 900 Mhz channel specifics.
Very nice system and very professional engineers.
The DS24 itself has the exact same ergonomics and feel than the DS16, with a nice screen. For me, the remote trim buttons were a huge no-go until I tried the trim joystick from Grumania. And actually love these!
The trims that were completely useless all of a sudden fall naturally under the hand. Brilliant idea from Ilja that makes the transmitter very attractive!

I had the opposite experience! The Grumania trim sticks worked nicely in the workshop but when actually flying I found I could not move them perfectly in just one axis, so if trying to trim elevator then it pressed an aileron trim too. But back in the workshop it works properly! So, great in theory but bad in the real world, for me anyway.
I have no problem with the trim buttons, my thumb goes straight to them with no delay, and any big trimming on a maiden flight or setting up different flight modes is handled by auto-trim, not by me pressing the manual trim buttons. Manually trimming a model is so last decade!

I did not achieve precise results with autotrim. I had to fine tune with manual trim.

Not knowing your setup.....If your looking at the trim page, scrolling to the right I always got with 1% then 50% for both side for the maiden since I don't have crooked airplane it's always more then sufficient, after the first day I fixes what ever I didn't like, like a heavy side or change the C&G the lower that to 25% for both and it stay there forever.....

To use it I just bump the sticks and it give me 1 or 2 step max at the time.....just like using the buttons.

I also redo the failsafe so my surface are neutral in case of......

Curious if you can invoke auto-trim multiple times, i.e. hold sticks for level flight, invoke auto-trim, lock trim settings (turn off auto trim), check trim, if additional trim required, hold sticks for level flight again, invoke auto-trim...

Is this how it's designed to work?

[waiting for DS-24, so no actual hands on experience].

Not quite.

If the auto trim is ON.. if you move the sticks at all, it will trim in that direction requiring you to relax the pressure.. BUT.. if you just tap it or bump it, it will act like a conventional trim.

Autotrim is very valuable for Maidens, where you are holding the stick some direction for straight and level.. just get the plane going straight, turn on auto trim and watch the model it will require less and less pressure on the stick.. turn it OFF before you turn... so you will have a series of passes where you turn it on and off.. when its close, then use the bump method.

After I maiden a plane, I turn it off and use the conventional trim because if you bump the auto trim just messing around with the transmitter, it WILL auto trim whether the model is on or not.. SO for instance if you show the TX to someone and they accidentally turn it on and move the stick one bump it moves the trim

That said, when I finish a maiden or tune flight, I commit the trims to memory so that they are all Zero, and you can recover from a mistake that way.

Some guys use auto trim a lot, just turn it on.. touch trim it, turn it off.. Its really slick

If you are on the main page, it will announce AUTO TRIM ON, over and over as a safety feature while you are using it..

Bottom line, be straight and level and make corrections, turn it off.. Or turn it on, hold pressure until the model returns to level and the pressure comes off, turn it off

It usually takes me a couple passes per flight mode.

Does the DS 24 have 2 Tx batteries for redundancy?
Thanks Chatty.
