We got advised about the filed insolvability very late in the process. A few hours before this thread came out. Very sad.

What will be the impact on those of us who own and fly Weatronic? Any word if Weatronic will reorganize or perhaps be bought out by someone else?

I'm with Craig on this; wondering about "orphan" status of my existing equipment?
No idea of German bankruptcy law, whether they allow for "reorganization" or if it means liquidation.....

Weatronic has always had great products but their customer service/support and management decisions have never quite been equal to the challenge.

I don't know. They are looking a company to take over. I don't know if they found someone so far.

For now I just keep flying with Weatronic. It will take a few years before I have to do another radio switch. Crossing my fingers they find a new company to take over.

I am in no way commercially connected with Weatronic, I have used their systems purely on their technical merit, and I pay full price for my equipment. A life time of flying full size jets has taught me a lot about reliability and redundancy, particularly the electrical enhancement of the big twins such as the 767 for ETOPS, and I believe the Weatronics system mirrors that for model use.

It is installed in all 12 of my jets and has given me all that I ask of it, and I have never even approached the limits of its capabilities.

I know little more than you guys about the financial situation BUT I belive that Mustafa Koc, who owned the company, died tragically last month and that may well be the cause of the financial problem.

Appreciative as I am of the huge amount of work that has gone into Wea by some very clever and technically competent people it is my sincerest hope that they will find a buyer.

I Wish them all the very best for their future continuation.

I just looked on the Weatronics website and there is absolutely nothing on it about this situation. Not surprising but in my view there should be some sort of comment. All I can see is a pic of DG and if you click on that you get a You Tube clip

Maybe your view, but give it a miss, you don't know the full picture.
This must be a shattering experience for all staff, it may be they have just lost their livelihood and perhaps, much of their future.

Give them some time, they are decent people, all of them, they gave their best, don't rub salt in the wounds, particularly if you are not a Weatronic customer.

well said david, I am also a weatronic user and I have a few thousand pounds invested in there radio system, I will speak to ace jets and ask what the situation is but I for one wont be getting rid of my radio. ther is currently nothing on the market that comes close to weatronic, so for me I am staying loyal to the brand

I'm drooling over pics of the Bat64 transmitter on the Ultimate Jets website... Very unfortunate timing with the issues with Weatronics and the passing of the owner. I hope things can get back onto a positive path!

Yep. There is no other transmitter on the market that offers such features, with nearly double the range of its competitors.

The only system that comes close to it is the new JR protocol, but without dual redundancy...

I'm curious where things are with Weatronics and PowerBox now that it's July. I've come across 2 Bat64s I can pick for less than a JR. Interested if any support would be available. All I can find is PowerBox is "evaluating" the inventory and has no current plans to assume the Weatronics line.

I spoke to Emerich Deutschland at Weston Park a couple of weeks ago.
They, Powerbox, are working on a redesign of the Tx although the programmes may remain much the same.
It will, however, be in the order of a year before they expect release.

Thats all, I know except that all of my Weatronics equipment has given flawless service and was recently flown (12-22 Gizmo. Tx) in my new SkyGate Hawk.

Regards,

David.

Thanks for the reply. Clearly not worth the risk of investing in any Weatronics equipment with so many ifs. If PowerBox produces a redesign and if they resume support on previous models and if they resume operations at all.

Default Support for 72 Mhz equipment.

I have lots of the 72Mhz stuff. 6 or 7 receivers. Does anyone know where you can get a version of RXCtrl that runs under Win 7 or 10?

thanks

tried this. Gigacontrol doesn't talk to the 72 Mhz or 35 Mhz Dual Receivers. Bummer.
