Hi Dantley,

The gear worked perfectly! I had a long wait for mine but it was well worth it - it's very powerful and seems to have undergone continuous refinement but as a result worked straight off far better than my friends with the air systems.

Elevator question. The manual says 106mm from the top of the fuse. If I do that, it looks like way too much UP elevator. Did you guys who have flown it just eyeball it, or does it have this much UP at neutral??? the other pic is at 96mm and where I think I will start. Love first hand guidance on this!

Thanks

Looking at Andrews pic in flight, looks like right in between my two marks will be a better starting point!

I was nose heavy so trimmed a bit of up elevator on mine. Will be interesting to see how mine settles out once I get the CG in the right spot for how I fly.

The one I test flew we were pretty much on the CARF figure, but as Andrew says balance affects that. Its perfectly flyable with a really wide balance range, Different tank set ups and how they burn affects that. All UK guys have extra fuel

Has anyone thought about putting drogue chutes in the stinger? With the small turbines, mine will be nose heavy with the cockpit, balances perfectly without cockpit. My Su has telescoping carbon tubes all the way to the end of the stinger (thanks Jose) so I have a great place and the support to do it. Does details for scale still exist? Read so many different things about them. Or does anyone else know where to get a parachute system?

Very cool - nice work!

Flown mine more recently with the CG pulled back and it's been fantastic.

hi,
Anyone transport the plane without the stabs installed, with the installation done at the field? Wondering if that is feasible or not really practical?

I transport mine with the stabs off. A massive 4 screws and they are on so it's easy

I would have said not really feasible. Andrew, are you able to remove and attach yours without pulling the turbine exhaust pipes?

Assembly of the whole aeroplane is easy at the field, They are all removable machine screws, so a spinning 2.5 hex driver makes it quick.

I just realized you guys are referencing leaving the stab rods and unscrewing the stabs from the rods. Easy peasy. In my head I was thinking more about removing the rods with the stabs to get to the absolute minimum width for transport.

Nooo, the easy way! Andrew has an Audi station wagon, so even with the rods protruding it’s not an issue.

10-12mm is enough. Any amount improves things.

We do about 1/4" with take-off flaps, 1/2" with landing - the 1/2" would be right on par with Dave's 12mm suggestion. That's measuring where the leading edge meets the fuselage.

Yes, at root! We have flown it with the LE on a separate channel and played with different amounts from nothing to 1/2" and anything over 1/4" makes a difference. If you tend to fly faster I'd keep it to a minimum even at full flap, it puts quite a load on the linkage if you fly fast in full drag mode.
