This is a real toss of the coin comparison going on here. Both the Fortune and the Avanti are great looking planes and I want them both.
To be honest... I do slightly lean towards the looks of the Avanti.....BUT!! The Future looks bright as its $200 cheaper....
hmmm what to do.
FYI.. I picked similar paint schemes to be fair. Both have much better paint schemes

The fortune is same size as Avanti S which they sell for 3000$ and say its for 100-210N, yes the slightly smaller XS is 2000$, for 60-100N. quite confusing.
Back to the subject:
Im attaching a couple of higher quality pics of my Fortune... everyone who saw it commented on what an impressive machine it is!

There is no denying that the FORTUNE is a fantastic looking jet and I am very interested..
But you are having troubles understanding that there is now a 4th size jet in the Avanti line up. and as I have already mentioned... it is only $200 more than the Fortune.
The S that you mentioned at Altecare just became the M or Medium lol It is $3000

Actually the Fortune and Avanti S are the same length, 87" (2.2M) Per post #1 byi3dm. The Fortune wings (75"/1.92m) are 4"/.10m longer than the Avanti XS (71"/1.8m) and are 4"/.10m shorter than the Avanti S (79"/2.0m). The Fortune specs also suggest the same weight and turbine power as the Avanti S. According to the specs, size, weight and turbine power requirements it looks like you would compare the Fortune to the Avanti S not the Avanti XS but to each his/her own. Oh, the other thing to consider, are the wings on the Fortune composite wings are wood wings like the Avanti's?
Don't forget even after you purchase an Avanti kit you still have to factor in the cost of a fuel tank and a pipe which are purchased apart from the kit. More money. On paper the Fortune is a bargain but it will only be a bargain if the quality is there. If you have to do this or add that to match the quality of other brands out there then the bargain becomes less and less but only time has the answer to that question. Keep building i3dm, you are the one everyone is watching right now.
If the Fortune becomes a hit, watch that price go up. The early adopters will be the ones getting the bargain. Those who choose to sit back and wait and watch will pay premium if this kit has the quality. What will you do?
As far Avanti goes, the line up is the Mini Avanti, The Avanti XS (not released yet), the Avanti S, the Avanti 2.1 by Krill (slightly bigger wing than the S) and the Avanti XL by Skymaster

The Fortune wings are 100% composite, with a lot of carbon fiber reinforcements.
This is the first fortune to fly in China:

tail pipe, turbine and air tank installation.
since i used a "fat" turbine (old P-120) i had to cut away a little from the mounts on the sides. i also opt to use blind nuts on all turbine installs.
air tank under the fuel tank is an option, under the main equipment tray is another option.

Just arrived back from Taiwan, and feel privileged to be chosen by Mr. Kim Yi to exclusively handle the US market on this very well designed sport jet. I must say that it has been a pleasure to work with Yi, as he appreciates and understands the importance of the inputs from modelers. On this note, the price quoted will be slightly adjusted to accommodate some improvements being discussed, ie. fuel tank fittings, peripheral hardware and so on.
We are looking forward of bringing this jet into the US; it's probably one of its kind in terms of quality and its price point, being a full composite jet.
Lior, thank you for sharing your build and understand that there's no perfect jet, but please share anything you think that this jet could be improved at the factory level, as I still have yet to receive one here in the US.
Cheers,
Barry
