The more you work with the radio the easier it gets.

I agree, I’m learning a lot about both Jeti and the Cortex Pro, good stuff

Yes, I’m using a REX 12 connected with a single serial cable to the cortex pro, which freed up outputs 1-6 for other functions, in my case, airbrakes. In hindsight I could have used a REX7 instead.

I never thought of looking in the alternate pin config section of the device explorer until you mentioned it because on the R3 the output bus config option is on the main page of the device explorer, anyway I got it all sorted now.

The Jeti radio system is an amazing piece of technology and I look forward to learning more, big thanks to you and the other folks who lend a helping hand to us newbs. -Tom

You can add an mui 30 into your fuel pump power line and use it as both a fuel guage and a turbine battery monitor.

I am using an MFlow fuel flow meter in my bigger T1, had not thought about the MUI30 as a fuel guage. I'm guessing you correlate fuel consumed by the amount of power the battery has expended to pump it?

Ready for maiden. I removed the magnets from the brakes and they work very smooth and proportional now. AUW is right at 10lbs. Just need some favorable wx now.

I fired up the K30 and so far I cannot find any indication of heat damage, that’s the good news. The bad news is there is something wrong with the turbine, I think it’s the ECU. I keep getting these weird messages in the status window of the GSU, e.g. WAITCONN, CAB-LOST? When I get these messages the turbine starter motor will turn when I advance the stick to full throttle but the start sequence never starts. I tried relearning the ECU numerous times, I tried changing patch cable between the receiver and the ECU, no luck. Any ideas? I’m using a Jeti radio, no problems on my other turbines.

Got everything sorted with the Turbine, sent an email to Dirk who told me this is a gen 3 ECU and you have to plug the turbine battery in before you turn on the radio. You also have plug in the turbine battery when doing the learn process. The gen 3 ECU also runs the starter motor continuously until the EGT is below 100c rather than cycling like previous versions.

Ran it up again today, turbine was flawless, taxied around a bit, she is now ready for maiden, just need some decent wx now.

I got 4 flights in yesterday. Everything thing went well on the first day out. The jet flew pretty much perfectly. The gyro settings recommended here in this thread were spot on. On the first flight it only needed 3 clicks of down elevator for trim. The retracts worked well with no issues retracting or extending the gear. The brakes worked really well and did not pull to either side when full force applied. The K30 is very well suited for this airframe, it’s not a speed demon but it gets around the pattern pretty quickly. Landing was uneventful, just using the flaps at the factory recommended setting the jet slows down very nicely, I was worried about residual thrust but that was not a problem at all. I have not tried the slats yet. All in all I’m very pleased with this aircraft and look forward to flying it more.

Same here, Home Depot. Make sure you get the tape that is actually aluminum, and not the stuff that just looks like aluminum.

I use the 60mm wheels with brakes. The tank is about 24oz, came with the kit from Amir at Hab. Tom

Thanks for your help. Tomas already got back to me with a reply. I really like the T-45 but the much higher wing loading has me a little worried and still considering going with the F-22. He says the same pipe and mount should fit either plane

Mine came in right at 10lbs ready to fly. I’ve got 8 flights on it so far and it flies very nice. Flying off anything other than pavement or very nicely groomed grass could be a problem though. I was initially worried about being able to slow it down for landing but that had not been a problem. Tom

I’d trade off the wing leading edge slats and airbrake for a lighter wingloading any day. Being from Texas and ex Navy, this one really piques my interest
