Default Texas Jets 2016 - Mt. Pleasant, Texas

Well it's about that time of the year again and we are looking forward to another great, relaxed event. The dates are May 12, 13 and 14, 2016. Registration will open at 9 am each morning. Concessions will be limited, but we will make a run at lunch to get food. For those who have not been to our field before we have a
great facility with power for your chargers and a covered pits area. We will also have another raffle this year. A new King Tech 160. See flyer for for details. You can get directions by going to www.mt.pleasantrc.com. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call me at 903-243-1776.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the event.

Gus

Danno,

Making fun of my computer skills?????? For those who didn't get Dan's comment I had to call him for help. I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for the help Dan. I hope that we have a good turnout this year. It's always a lot of fun and this year I'm healthy for a change. I'm really looking forward to it. Hudson and I both are.

Hey Gus, good to see you at Afterburner. Guess Hudson will be needing a new airframe to go the Turbine he won.

Tulsa boys plan on being there mid day Thursday. If I get moving I hope to bring Turbine powered Blanik sail plane.

Bad news for Hudson. Those tickets were bought by Doug Mercier. I was tempted to tell him that he didn't win, but a winner is a winner. That hurt to tell him that he won. Hudson was depressed.

Hey Gus,
Trying to decide if best to come in from Tulsa on Wednesday evening or Thursday Morning around 10-11. If we come in Wednesday will we be able to set up and also is there any place to securely store planes or leave trailers?

Thanks

Yes, you can come Wed. and setup. Trailers will be secure at night as the gate is locked at night.

I tried to reply yesterday from my phone and apparently I don't know how to do that either. Coming from Tulsa the best way is the Indian Nation Turnpike to Hugo then take 271 to Paris. Stay on 271 and that will take you to Mt. Pleasant. Continue on 271 via the new loop which you will be fed into, I think that is still called 271, towards Pittsburg. The loop will converge back into the old 271 just before you get to the Mt.. Pleasant Airport, which will be on your left. You will turn right at that point which is 2417. Continue on 2417 approximately 2 maybe 2.5 miles and we are on the left. Turn left on Fort Sherman Dam Road and we are approximately one-half of a mile down that road. You can't miss us. I know this sounds complicated but it's not. Call me if you get lost and then we'll both be lost together. You are more than welcome to come out Wednesday and set up, but be aware that we will be working on the field give it the final mowing etc. We have a loced gate that is closed at night and the lake board has security 24 - 7. We have never had any trouble at the field and really would shock us if we did. However, it's up to you. I have left my trailer out there overnight several time without incident.

I'm sorry that it had taken me this long to respond but my computer is at the office. If you have any questions let me know or give me a call at 903-243-1776. We are all looking forward to the event and seeing everybody.

Gus

For those who haven't noticed. The coordinates to the field are on the top right hand of our flyer which is the first post on this tread.

The forecast looks awful good for next weekend... But, the long range forecast is usually backwards from what it will be.. But, Seeing how today is exactly one week from the event, the exact one week forecast ( only to be right if checked today ) and if the event in question falls on a Friday the Thirteenth and is the first quarter of the moon followed by a full moon one week and one day later, And Mercury is one-half though Retrograde, I predict we will have fair sky's and smooth sailing !! It appears that the odds are against us for a smoking hole lightning bolt or a Lincoln Continental melt down with all four tires blown out... Maybe next year !!!

See ya there !!
