Is it necessary to unplug the turbine battery between flights, with the receiver powered off does the ecu draw any current?

Between flights no you can leave it plugged in. If you are storing the plane away and not flying for a few weeks or more you should disconnect the battery. It uses a very small amount of power off.

Also with the new ECU you can turn off receiver power and the engine will still cool down without the receiver battery. Cant tell you how many times I leave my plane during the cool down and forget to turn it off lol. I am always multi tasking at the field

Thanks for letting me know I don't have to disconnect the turbine battery during flights. Makes life easier.

Telemetry for jeti is in the works. All the major radio's will be supported accept futaba. Futaba won't work with us so their users will be on their own. We tried to reach out to them.....

Futaba is dropping the ball with their telemetry. Looks like I am going the Jeti route. Any timeline idea?

I am!

I realy like not having to conect and disconect when i fly, I'm getting a clear canopy so I can see my equipment without taking it off.

CAP232S,
Per the new G2 manual, page 40. Test/Info page 1 displays Total Times in minutes, last Cycle time in seconds and number of Cycles.

A few K300 are out being tested as we speak. Barry has one in his skymaster 1/5 F16. For the release not sure on exact date but probably early 2017.

Some of the new features are
>Auto restart encase of air bubble.
>Glider mode so you can shut off the engine and restart the engine in flight. (with Xicoy this was not possible without a power cycle)
>A pump prime mode during start to ensure positive fuel flow for ignition.
>ECU learns as you fly so if for instance you have a temperature probe fail in flight the engine will not shut down but will continue to run up to 80% power so you can make it back and land safely with out a dead stick landing. This will also continue to work if you have a failed RPM sensor and will get you home. After landing and shutting engine off it will let you know of the error.
>One of the BIG things is new wire harness. The new harness is much easier to install and fool proof so no more trouble shooting a plug installed the wrong way.
>Should be backwards compatible with existing Kingtech engines. Stay tuned for more info on this.
>working on telemetry and spektrum should be ready before release.
>Barry himself has a very hand in the development of the ECU so its got allot of design from a real world pilot not some engineer who does not fly. Since Barry deals with most of the service calls he knows what works and does not work. So one of his goals on this new ECU was to eliminate all the common set up errors we got with the old ECU.
>Records all flight data and its very easy to access errors after your flight if there are any for further trouble shooting.

Keep in mind this is still in development so some things may change. We hope to be able to demo this unit at Kentucky jets if possible not sure if it will be done in time. Production soon after. No clue on cost yet.

With this new ECU it opens up allot of new possibilities. Some of the stuff being worked on is a hub that will make it bluetooth compatible so you can make adjustments and send data files to kingtech in case of trouble shooting problems. Also Kingtech will be able to set up engines based on the GPS data location where in certain regions like in the mountains or extremely humid or cold areas they can custom set up the engine parameters. Again this part is looking into the future but all great possibilities.

I am sure Barry will chime in. He knows this unit inside and out.

Interesting. Any further update on this development?

Any estimates on the backward compatibility to the K60. Installing one on a big sail plane and would really like to have the ability to start and stop it in flight.

Its not cost effective to retrofit older engines. Would be cheaper to just sell it and buy a new one.

It can be done but its expensice so currently their is no option for it

Does any one know if K T has a PC interface for the new control unit, so you can few and save your flight info to your PC from your GSU, from what I see on my new G model you only have so many runs saved on the GSU? I would think they would have or be working on this.

Is anyone with Jeti having issues during the "Learn RC" process...Particularly in regards to trim inputs? It doesn't seem to recognize my trim inputs and as result won't go any lower than "idle" (no "Trim low"). I've tried binding the RX's on the CB200 with both the stick AND trim down as the manual states, as well as with the trim neutral without any luck. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
