Default i-Gyro 1e in heading mode?

Has anyone used an i-Gyro 1e in HH mode for ailerons, during take off?

I have a 1e gyro on the ailerons on one of my jets, working very nicely in rate mode. I am curious to try it in heading hold mode just to see what it is like. Before the i-Gyros the received wisdom was not to use gyros in HH mode during take-off. The 3e instructions say it can be left in HH mode for take-off, but the 1e instructions do not explicitly state that it can too, so I wonder if anyone has genuine experience of using the 1e in HH mode for ailerons on take-off and can confirm that it is safe?
