It flys like a larger size model, very stable and predictable . Recommended CG works great for smooth takeoff, and main gear spring setup is very stable for crosswind on takeoff and landing. All the bad habits that F-18s are prone to have been taken care of by BVM.

We can of course give Boeing compeat credit for the fantastic full size jet fighter, good solid USA reliable engineering.

I had an early SM F18 that was heaver and slightly smaller many years ago and just about every one of those hard turns would have been perhaps its last before it left the flight enverlope!
Not once did the JL BVM one bite on those hard turns, and it has real presence in the air very impressive, well done.
Here are some links to videos made by William over in China to whom we can thank for its early development way back in Feb 2015.
He had the pre production F18F to develop without a gyro for Jetlegend BVMs new partner and iron out any bad habits before it was available for export.

Great piloting! Thanks for posting the video. I have had my eye on these for awhile and even had a chance at one of the Diamondback 18's BVM had in stock a few months ago. I had a SM and flew the heck out of that before selling it. I may get one of the BVM 18's in the future. I have a question about the finish. Is it typical JL shiny paint in the mold? I don't care for that on a military scheme other than display jets like the Blue Angels. Also any report of if there is any issue with the rods or structure inside the stab? I recall sometime back with various JL planes that people reported balsa blocks in the stab instead of hardwood and missing anti rotation pins. I have to think with BVM backing this jet that some extra engineering has taken place. How are the pneumatics? Are they leak free? I really like this jet.

Just watched the video again. What a great demonstration of the handling qualities of the jet! MY SM flew great but overall did not handle anywhere near as nice as the BVM appears to. I am left feeling that I should have pulled the trigger on this jet when I had the chance at the in stock kit. I wonder what the turn around time is on these when ordered through BVM and shipped right from the factory.

I'm the same way but can't swallow the Der Jet price for an 80-100 sized airplane. If I sprung for the F-18, it would be the smaller one in the exact color scheme that Dustin has. Supposedly, the new PNP Bandit Evo is coming out and rumor has a new PNP T-45 but haven't seen anything on that.

Has BVM proposed a release date for the larger F-18C? Was almost ready to pull the trigger on a 1/5 F-16 till I saw this thread. I imagine the price point will be around or slightly higher than the F-16? Excited to see them producing more PNPs.

We've got one here for the past year and all I can say it's a winner ,we installed a P-180RXI and flew it at 145N thrust setting . Flew great , today it's set to 175N and the airframe handles this power setting perfect . The landing gear itself is a work of art and easily takes less than perfect landings ( high sink ratio )
I have a question. i have a scale 1/8 jetlegend f18A kit and i wonder of the scale gear of the f18f would fit. Could you maby measure how big the gearbay is from the f18f. Thank you .
regards Geoff

unfortunatly it won’t unless major modification to the internal wood structure of your existing kit .. you see , the new gear works like the full size in manners of retraction , actuators , locking mechanism etc .,so there is no single retract unit to which a strut is attached to ... its an entire unit with retracting cylinder , locking cylinder etc . Look at JL website they have a picture of their new landing gear unit to further understand if it can somehow fit into your airframe .
