Agree, nicer than BC or KC but had both and they were great too...My first jet was a BVM Ultra viper that I learned to fly ducted fans with, then I converted it to turbine then a turbine Bandit...Good memories.

If rumors are true, the new owners can easily reproduce a low cost Viper and Mavericks ARFs with great success I think.

I'm scared it's true.

My entire fleet is BVM.

I enjoy his engineering, the support and that BV is in my country.

All that will change (for the worse, for SURE) if BV leaves and go to china.

Which leads to another dilemma,

If BV were to sell, would you stock up on kits now at the BVM price and quality or wait for cheaper, and potentially lower quality, version of the same models?

I'm slightly surprised that the rumours haven't been confirmed or denied by now; my uninformed inkling is that it's not true.

I also heard rumor that former employees of FEJ are now working for JetLegend... So I guess that means... soon BVM jets will be made by FEJ???

Customer service...lol
Like needing brake valve O rings, for the Smoothstop valve, and the website doesn't work to order them online, no one answers the phone so you leave a message, and you send an email, and the only customer service you get is an email 2 weeks later asking if you are still interested. That's some great customer service there....

Logically such a deal makes sense for both BV and JL. BV gets the cash and JL gets a reputation, albeit not for very long, as the inherent Asian lack of QC will pervade. That being said, the lack of comment, yay or nay from those in the know, could be an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) which were I part of JL, would be the first thing signed by anyone on the BV side of any negotiation. After all it is only the BV name and reputation that carries any real value to any Asian manufacturer. Molds and all the inventory are virtually worthless to them as they will manufacture as they see fit not as Bob had done it. Sad to say that if this is true, and I am skeptical to say the least, then the end of an era is at hand. If they hired the FEJ staff then the end is closer than even I suspect!

Sir,
Not sure why poor customer service. I have been a Bvm customer since 1992 and I cannot think of one time in all those years someone did not answer the phone. It's refreshing in my opinion to be able to talk to a human and not only have to rely on online sales. 407 327 6333. We have Internet issues at work almost daily. If the site is not talking to your computer I would direct your complaints to Bill Gates.

I have to guess that if BVM decides to sell its name, Bob would want to add some conditions in the sales agreement (sure it is not easy to do if overseas is involved) to somehow protect the brand name and its loyal customers. May be some of the staff would stay as consultants.

It is in the benefit of BVM and its future owners to keep present and future customers happy. After all, they want to keep the business profitable.

if the site is not talking to my computer it is a lack of having an IT professional care for your website, which is itself poor customer service. Bill Gates has nothing to do with it. Poor service is poor service no matter how you cut it. Let's not leave out the $15.00 they wanted to ship something that fits in a first class envelope with one stamp. But hey, whatever you say fanboy.

This segment of the hobby would look very different if not for Bob, and BVM.

Say what you will but for last 30 years his stuff looks better and works better than most.

If you need an O-ring, try some advance planning, order a pack (before you need them) and keep them on hand. Whining about an icon in the hobby - over an o-ring - makes you look, to say the very least, petty.

Let it go man. You've yet to gain any support for your rant. Better yet, why don't you bop down to your local Lowes, part with $40 and buy a digital caliper. Then you could go home measure your O ring and hop on the McMaster Carr website and order 10 of the damn O rings for $3.99 + shipping.

I just tried to order from McMaster Carr and their site won't work. That is bad customer service.

If you're BV it makes sense. He may be looking to retire and getting a chuck of cash plus some juice on the backend would be perfect. You can't blame him. The silence from the BVM group is deafening.......
