Yes pictures of the kit on facebook.

Mine came extremely well packaged in double thickness cardboard and plenty of bubble wrap. No damage at all in transit.
Nice slow flying video

The flaps and ailerons need facing with balsa on the wing and aileron side and also need some shielding depending on how you intend to hinge them. No problem to fill in the gap. I am not decided on hinging method yet. I like glass fibre tongues and a pull out wire hinge so they can be removed at any stage. This requires inset balsa blocks to be inserted.

Not the best thread as he made mistakes in joining the wing. Came out very heavy, too heavy retracts. Huge intercontinental fuel tank 2.7litres.
The plane needs a top hatch and I will make one on mine and infill the large opening underneath with proskin to add back stiffening. Dubro 1.5 Litre tank fits nicely. Would be great with a MW44.
Delivered price to the Uk was 620 euro. I didn't order the fuel tank or pipe or the cnc cut parts. The instructions come with a set of full size drawings of the CNC parts.

Hi John,
I looked at the sting years ago and even tried contacting them but got no response. I can only speak/type English so perhaps that was the problem. I like almost everything about it except the inlets. I'd really want to make those less squared off looking.

Back in the day,D/L Aeromodel had a very nice Cyclone airframe for turbines that would work well with today's smaller engines. They also had a very nice MB339 kit that was also sold by another distributor as well under their own name. Construction was similar to the BVM kits of the day and very reasonably priced, good flyers. I too, think there is still a large market potential for that size airframe, especially scale models.

I had a cyclone 2. Loved that jet! Shame they aren't around anymore.

Jeremy,
I flew a DL Aero Cyclone for 7 years-4 as a glow DF and converted to a turbine for the last 3. This was the first production model by Yves and was originally built by a fellow jet modeler for a review in RCJI. He flew it for a while until he had a flameout and crashed into a tree- this was the "speed" version with the short wing. I bought the hulk for a song and repaired it with the longer sport wings. It was powered by a Dynamax fan originally with a K&B 82 DF engine and later with a BVM 91R. Many great flights in the northeast USA and southern CA with this combo. I then did a turbine conversion for a FTE-500 and flew it for several more seasons. It was a shoehorn fit and space for fuel was at a premium. I ended up with 5 tanks, including a belly (ventral) tank for a total of 48 oz or about 6 minutes plus reserve. This conversion was flown in New England and Ontario at many jet rallies. The belly (ventral) tank was its downfall, when your raised the nose for a landing flare the fuel sloshed rearward for a tail heavy CG followed by a snap roll. I just got tired of repairing it and moved on. Many fond memories though on this Cyclone and it would be a great sport jet especially with the newer, lighter and more fuel efficient turbines. Yves was also great to deal with and sorry to see him leave the hobby/sport.

I have a 1 litre tank I plan on using. Engine I am 50/50 on the K45 or K60, probably K60 though.. Pipe not sure but the pipe in my Starfire looks about right so I will measure it and see what there is out there.
Viper would be so cool too. can't beat these old BVM jets for style!
Retracts and wheels are Hobbyking as was the 1 litre tank
