Quality of Tomahawk
Hi ,everybody ,
The following pictures is my 2.5m Futura of Tomahawk , Left wing , right elevator , canopy frame all has small holes , Left wing is most serious. Such products can be shipped to customers ! Is it a bad intention to deceived the consumer of other countries or his quality is so poor ?

We have had (in the past), similar issues with kits and parts from various European Companies (no names mentioned).
I suspect that the reason behind this was two-fold: Because we work in the Middle East "they"assume that we are very wealthy and also less likely to complain, as being far away it's not easy to send parts back for replacement. It's also a pain in the *****, inconvenient, and a real time waster. Also when contacted there was very little understanding or compassion. At one stage it was blatantly obvious that we were being sent all the dregs and second grade stuff.
Anyway, that seems to have stopped now but only after some serious educating was offered from our European colleagues and friends that fly RC with us over here, plus events like JetPower where we would be able to meet, in person, the companies concerned.
Either way - Its NOT the way to do business at all.
Good Luck

I didn't know Tomahawk is selling painted airframes....
Without jumping to conclusions, but a picture of the whole airframe would be nice. The only thing that prooves your statement is the TH logo on the wingbag on each picture.
.....
(with jumping to early conclusions: this could also be an attempt to damage TH's reputation, so please - show proof that his is really a TH airframe).

The quality of my Tomahawk model (2m Viper) is probably the best I have ever seen. The surface is like glass and it is very well built. Mine is painted-in-the-mould so they definitely do sell painted airframes.
The only issue I had was that it took longer to build than the time quoted, but that was soon forgotten when it arrived as it was beautiful.
I have just test flown someone else's Tomahawk model (2.5m Viper) and another of my friends also has one (Futura) and they are all immaculate, like mine.
I'm not sure what's happened to this model but this doesn't reflect my experience with Tomahawk.

I own a Tomahawk Futura 2.5 and the quality is absolutely first class, equal to the best I have ever seen, and whats more Thomas customer service is first class as well, i've had immediate replys to e mails and messages , there are many examples of his products here in the United States, and Ive never heard anyone complain, and as an afterthought, Thomas would never ship anything to anyone that was knowingly substandard, no matter what part of the world they lived in....just my two cents worth.. The plane in the pictures was painted out of the mold. Unless they offer that option, I would certainly say that this is a scam of some sort.
If you look at the first two pictures, there is paint in the void. We all know that when you paint in the mold and have a void behind the paint, the paint will bridge the hole in a thin film, or it will pop out leaving natural colored resin/cloth in the hole.

Well after some careful consideration I decided to do some investigating on my own.
What was bugging me was the quality (or lack of), resolution in some of the photos. Also the fact that my personal experience and relationship with Thomas (and Tomahawk), has always been exemplary (as I had mentioned earlier), and although I have been witness - on occasion, to consumer discrimination (if you can call it that, and again with no names mentioned), this just didn't seem right.
I believe that XXXXX was in-fact, a customer of TH and sent a complaint with regards to the kit quality. TH was shocked by the evidence as such quality would not be allowed to leave the factory. TH even offered to replace parts and even have them sent back (on TH expense), for repairs.
Without accusations or incriminating myself (or TH), I am wise enough to know that sometimes, some individuals, will clone a product and then complain about the poor quality of the copied part, whilst putting blame on the original manufacturer.
Anyway I will leave it at that, but it sure does puzzle my mind

I don't know why i even bother to waste my time by getting involved here, but how do you explain that at least one photo was photoshopped? As long as the OP doesn't show the airframe as a whole, I would bet that his is no Tomahawk Airframe. Since he has not replied since his initial post, I guess that no further explanations will follow. I am curious!
I am not even an owner of a Tomahawk plane, nor do I know anyone in the company, but this stinks in all directions.....

- this is NOT painted in the mold
- some damage occurred AFTER paint was done , some holes were clearly made before painting or in the prep process. I dont see how any part could have left the mold with that kind of damage ... not eve FEJ wold have been this bad.
- to me it looks like there is A LOT of high intensity heat damage, from the fiber weave popping through, to the popped / blistered paint... almost as if someone tried getting the paint to dry with a heat gun.
- the original gellcoat would not leave such a bad surface out of the mold... weave would take a VERY long time to come through like this on a new air-frame of any type.
I don't see how TH would even be able to manufacture something this bad if they wanted to... oh yea, there is definite Photoshop work also

Some people will say that this invoice is false , some people will say that this is a product of copy , some people will say….. .
I don’t need to argue with your , no matter how the argument , can’t change the facts .
These defects in the factory can not do not know , but still sent to the customer , what is the intention ?
If I return the defective products , what kind of new problems will appear ? This is the question that I have to think about .
Thomas , if you have friends in Dongguan City China , you can let them call me , I will give them to see defects of Futura . 2170934[/IMG]2170935[/IMG]2170936[/IMG]

Many of friends had TH models like Futura/L39/Viperjet/Natrix/Hawk/Quantum,
NEVER SEEN ANY PROBLEMS LIKE SHOWN HERE !
they may had little issues like missing or damaged parts due to handling and shipping, and they reply positivley all the way !
i believe it is not an innocent way to post here directly without contacting TH first, that if it is a real story of course !!
