In the specs it list the model power requirements for a K80 - K160 size turbine. How would this fly on a P100? I have one sitting around that needs a home. Wondering if it would be a good fit.

It should fly well. It will suffer in the verticals but fly pretty good otherwise. Airplane flies super light with a very light wing loading.

At least in my plane the way the servo sits and the arm I'm using I have to use the ball links to make a straight shot from the servo arm to the horn
There is a simple solution for this. I will try it on the elevator, if that works I will do it on all the surfaces.

Yeah try it out. I am also not using the stock horn. Some would go into thresd and pull right out. Didnt like thst so i got a pack of heavy duty dubro 4-40 and made my own rods with carbon sleeve. Yes overkill but looks nice when done. Will go back and heatshrink sfter all is set and look even cooler

This is what I am working on to correct the servo setup and linkages. This is with a 1" servo arm, HD clevis, and 4-40 ball link. I took a ball and put it between the two horns to lock it in and put the linkage on the inner outside. This give a almost perfect alignment. Some trimming of the slot will need to be done but not much. This might just work.

So that's for the stab. So you're not using the double horn on the flying surface. Just one side. I would just as a washer so the ball link doesn't come off in flight.

Hmm... So I guess I'll be moving all my horns or servos when I get mine. That's the downside of these ARFs. I spend more time redoing things the way I want them than if they hadn't done it for me.
It's been about seven weeks since I ordered mine at Kentucky.

Still using the double horn but going to the side, they are tied together with the threw bolt that will keep it from flexing, and yes a washer is always used on the ball link.

builders make the most critical builders of ART frames...but they also come up with good solutions too.

Hmm, I'm using all the hardware and factory horn locations on mine. I haven't seen any issues that concern me. Am i missing something?

Ive been using most ofnthe hardware, just not the factpry horns. Thought they looked too big and funky looking. And had issue with one of them not right size. And alsonwill be using a metal hinge for the doors instead of the plastic one.. these are just preferences as i had other items already laying around but the kit does come with everything you need. No complaints here.

The only hardware i did not use where the plastic hinges. I had aluminum ones already as well..
I feel that the factory hardware is good. For the price of this kit im pleased with the hardware and quality of this jet.

Would buy another in a heartbeat!

nothing wrong with the hardware and factory horn. But if you want 100% throw at high rats on your servo the factory setup won't let you do that. This setup is typical for 3D were you have 1-1/2" or 2" servo arms with big throws. But for a jet or a warbird you don't need or want all that throw. Most sport or scale modles will have a different setup that allows the surface to achieve maximum movement for that particular model (usually around 20-25 degrees of deflection each way).

There is nothing wrong with the factory setup and many are flying with it...be it with only using 20-30% of the servo throw and resolution. As a builder this is not the ideal setup or use of the current technology we have with our servos and radios. With a little engineering all this can be achieved in the factory as it is surface/ servo setup 101!

For those of you that build this jet in a week from finding it at your door this is fine, but for the builders we want it the way it should be, and the way we know it should be. I have no problemb making it work and find it a challenge sometimes to work these issues out. My comments are not ment to criticize but to offer positive feedback and options for others. The generic setup used on this jet works for most frames but it's not the best for this one. With a little tweaking they can get it right to where even the most inexperienced builder can achieve the proper results that most seasoned builders get. In my opinion the control horns are still to short for this type of setup (servo arm and ball link outside the wing)

I get that this is a bargain and making changes raises the cost but we are talking simple changes, even doing the flap setup like Topflite uses would work here and not add to production cost.
A factory internal servo mount for the ailerons would also be easy to do and look really cool and even better...work!

I think this is a great model and will be very popular in the future as long as the cost stays down, otherwise they will be compeating with CARF and SM and they have the setup I'm talking about already.

My thermo sleeve arrived so now I can do the tail section.
This stuff is good for constaint protection of 500 degrees and intermittent of 2000 degrees

should do the trick.

Perfect! The outside wall of the pipe will never get that hot so you will be good. The servo wires during the build was the one thing that scared me for new people to turbines building this plane. That is the one spot you can get into trouble on by not paying attention to the wires being close to the pipe.

Per our request the factory has now made a larger fuel tank along with a combined smoke tank. This tank will not come stock and will need to be orderd seperate from the T1. Not sure how soon they will be available but not to much longer. Also dont know price yet.

3.7L fuel tank plus 1L smoke tank.

Is that going to be big enough to get three servo wires through it. I'm assuming 2 elevator and 1 rudder

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!!!!

Please send pictures of your finished T-1 to us, static or flying. I could use some good shots of "ALL" the color schemes to post on the website. Your participation is greatly appreciated!!

Good Flying,

Dirk
