Progress is slow but steady! I installed four hard mounting points for the satellites in the configuration recommended bu Horizon.

Im using the locking velcro to attach the sattlelites to the mounts, this stuff is great as its strong and firm, but easy to detach if you need to.

I finished off the front tray for the retract valve, servo and break valve. I will also mount the gear failsafe up here too.

Tony how about the front door that opens forward into wind? Have a pic of that? Or did you do just one big door?

Digital Pilot can you post some pics of the front side of the door that opens forward. Like To see how you mounted that door? Is it servo operated or just connected to the strut for opening and closing?

And it closes with the wind or you have it secured to the front strut?

I desided to go ahead and finish the noes gear door. I was putting it off as I am not a fan of the split door so I'm keeping it as one door. I am utilizing the other cylinder I have and ports on the UP3 valve as I would have to cap it otherwise. I put the second cylinder at the very front to help stabilize the door while it is open and in flight. It also pulls the door closed tight and I don't think it will open on its own in flight.

The arm is just one half of the offset hinge used on the door.

The mount is aluminum from a previous build screwed into a ply block glued to the inner fuselage.

Now I can hook the lines up to the UP3 and move on down the fuselage.

Guys, what did you use to finish the tank installation? The rubber tank stopper that came with the kit is smaller than the tank hole.

I bought these from a hobby shop in Europe. What are your guys thoughts on using festo for fuel tank and vent. I know a lot of guys in Europe use them so I thought I would give them a try. They look nice and wasn't expensive.

Personally, I never use Festo fittings on ANY connections, I just dont trust them. Yes they most definately make life easier when working on the airplane thats for sure, I had a festo fitting on a UAT fail, sucked air, flamed out. Landed fine, took me a lil bit to figure out the fitting itself was the culprit. Now All I use is barbed fittings and tees, with safety wire on EVERY connection.
here is a good post on this very subject

Default Progress

Getting a bit done this morning. I am working from the noes back.

Noes cone is done with bats, telemitry, ASI (pitot tube).

I chose to put the pitot in the noes for eas of access and installation.

Reciever bats are mounted here and run back to the volt regulator.

The UP3 valve is plumbed and I tested the front gear doors and noes retract before I move on. The door and gear work great, just needs 20-30 lb to slam it down. I slowed down the gear as it was fallowing the gear door almost simultaneous. Smart fly board is under the main tray and I may put some more stuff under there.

I need to install the break valve and the gear failsafe next to complete this section. I will layout the main board next.

Some more progress, this beast is a time sucker

I got all the wiring done so I installed the turbine, air tanks and fule tank.

The board is done and is as I mentioned detachable with all the gear attached. I do have to feed the servo leads threw though, but that's it.

I still have a bit to do before I install the board.

My buddy Scott (smiller) brought his new Ferrari scheme T1 to OC-Turbo Fest in Titusville PA on Friday for his maiden flight.

It was flawless, the T1 fly's like it is on rails, and the Jet Central Cheetah flew it like a rocket ship!

Here is an example of a proper installation

One look tells it all!

I get it from Leasure RC Models. I have used it on all my gassers for the past four years. It doesn't get stif like Tygon will.

Ok so thanks to you guys that are looking out after me I will be replacing the blue Tygon tubing from the tank to the UTA, and to the pump with clear tubing supplied by KingTech. Don't know why I did not use it in the first place, habit I guess

I also got a 4mm ball valve for the shut off, I don't like the festo fittings.

When I do nematic gear setups I like to test each section on its own to eliminate leak searching. So I pumped up the main system, and let it sit over night, neddle did not budg. So then when I add the wings and it won't hold air I know it's the wings, I do one wing at a time.

I also tested all servo leads as once this pup is all put together it will be a pain to get to anything. Next I will redo the fuel system and install the tray. That will complete the fuselage

TB
