Today I took the T-one to the field for final testing and engine run up. Filled the fuel system up then check that all is well. Engine primed itself and fired right up. Ran smooth with the auto restart on and shut down just fine. Taxi test to dial in the steering and check the breaks. Both air systems checked out and healed air all day. The bolt that was missing in the forward rotation clamp was nowhere to be found as we flipped the fuselage around to get all derbies, and any screws from construction out but no wing bolt so I'm guessing it fell out in shipping or never was there in the first place.
With the UAT full I weighed the plane, 27.6 lb dry. I then balanced at 225mm and had to add a little weight to the noes ( strip and a 1/3 of the GP lead) that I can shead if I feel it's to noes heavy. Got my waiver signed off on a buddies EPO viper
If conditions are good I may maiden tomorrow at ARCA, if not then next weekend in Waco.

HI all, I maidened he T1 this past week at BITW in California,The first flight was very squirrelly with the new Jetti radio that was not set up properly, after Jim Brown completely set up the program properly the T1 flew great, a couple of recommendations.
1- set the trim steps to fine (2%)
2-CG- 250mm
3-this jet has powerful fin, so have 50% expo on fin and 70% expo on steering
4-This jet lands great, just keep the power on before tough down.
5-this jet needs aileron coupling on knife edge flight.
6- 8 to 9 minute flights are norm
7-Have 2 position gyro on flights, high on takeoff and land ( 20% and 10% on the Mercury)
8-Powered by a Jet Central Cheetah, 32lbs recommended

Thanks for the report. So you balanced at 250mm for the first flight? I'm set at 225mm with removable weight up front! Gunradd was sugesting 240mm for advanced flight! Is thus what you fly and what would you recommend for a first flight?
Today I did final setup with my buddy (rc test pilot). We set throws, expo, and we did some more run ups and testing of the breaks. We also tested the auto restart by pinching the line, letting the engine flame out then releasing only to have it start back up within 3-4 seconds.
We had a stiff direct cross wind all day so no maiden, hopefully next week will be good. A few minor tweaks left to do.
Rcpete, can you please list the throws you used on hi rates? Ailerons, elevator and what is your full flap setting with how much elevator mixed in? What was your ready to fly weight?
thanks.

Picked up my T-One at Best In The West yesterday. Huge thanks to Dirk for going the extra mile to make sure it made it. She's in the back of my truck for the long trip home. Paint scheme is gorgeous. Will have more pics once I'm home (around Oct. 22nd.)
Looking forward to the build!

Insane slow is what I would call it lol. Even with it at 220mm it was very slow.
If you watch the landing at the end of this video it gives you an idea of the speed on landing. Keep in mind this video does not show it but Franco climbed up to almost out of site then shut the engine off and dove straight down at the ground pulled up into a downwind 4 point roll and turned to final and land all dead stick.

I will get one of these off Nexus Models but going to wait until the rush dies down a bit plus hopefully all mods if any will be done by the time I order one..
Looking a good alternative to the CARF Flash I was thinking of getting next..
Good seeing everyone's experience with this jet.

Hi everyone,
I guess it is time to pump the brakes and give the T-1 factory time to catch up. Due to the huge demand of our T-1, and now shipping issues. We are going to stop taking orders at this time. The factory is getting too far behind and we don't want them to start rushing to get orders out and jeopardize the quality. It seems the pre season holidays are already causing major delays with shipping our planes and that is adding to the delivery times. The Major Holidays are right around the corner and I for see us having even bigger delays in days to come.
The current orders are still being processed as they came in, but we are going well beyond 12 weeks delivery times if I continue to take orders. We are having planes sitting in EMS warehouses upwards of 4-5 weeks now waiting for open cargo space on the planes. Keep in mind there are only so many planes leaving China everyday, and our big boxes are being bumped off to make room for a lot of little boxes.
If you want to place an order, Email me your name and contact # and I will put your name on a list as I get them. I will contact you when we get back to 4-6 weeks delivery times and see if you want to proceed, at that time, you can pay for it. No deposits will be taken, or are needed to hold your spot after you email me.
Again, for those of you that have current orders placed, they are still being processed but obviously at a much slower than anticipated pace. If at anytime you want to cancel your order for a full refund, contact me at [email protected] or call me at 626-808-6122
Thank you for understanding our position.
Regards,
Dirk & Barry
