Jolly Rogers were not Black Sheep.
Black Sheep is a Marine squadron, and Jolly Rogers is Navy which became famous after shooting down 2 Libyan Migs in the 80's over the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya.
As a former F-18 mechanic VFA-113 and Navy veteran I don't see the problem with it.
If I could I'd get it in the VFA-113 "Super Bee" scheme.....

Regardless of my mistake, when I started looking for a model of an F-14, the ONLY trim scheme I wanted was the Jolly Roger. The only F-14 I was ever around up close and personal, was one they brought into the local airport for an airshow. It's an awesome airplane and this one was a Jolly Roger.

Sorry about the misinformation on my part. With all the messing around the military did with deactivating squadrons, creating new ones and combining them, it's hard to follow the trail. It was my understanding that when the Marines "disestablished" VMA-214, some of the people were the basis of the Jolly Roger establishment. I did not know that the Jolly Rogers existed in WWII at the same time as the Black Sheep.

I am on the wait list. i am trying to decide on a color scheme. I'm torn between the Yellow, Blue or Jolly Roger scheme.
I've seen the yellow scheme posted, very nice. Does anyone have pictures of the Blue scheme that they can post?
How about posting actual pictures of the Jolly Roger, anyone? Hard to decide.

My T-1 arrived yesterday! It was one of the ones that was held up in shipping for 4-5 weeks, but to Dirk's credit, not 3-4 days went by that he wasn't communicating the delays with me.
I'm pleased that it arrived with no damage thanks to the stout packaging job from the factory. Looking forward to assembling this one and having it flying in the spring.
Weight of everything from the factory including pipe and retracts is spot on 18 lbs.

FLIGHT UPDATE:
Over the weekend I put some hard flights on the T One. I was doing Knife edge passes rolling inverted and pushing vertical into snap rolls at the top. The recovery was effortless. So then I decided on the next pass that i would try a Lomcevak tumble. Again recovery was great. Of course I bled off energy before these maneuvers.
I was a little concerned about the canopy due to no mechanical lock, if it was going to fly off I think it would have during these maneuvers so no issues there.
Flaps down slow flight you can practically jog beside it and its stable as can be.
last maneuver was a inverted pass pushed into vertical stall/tail slid, dropped gear and flaps to full and landed slower that ever..
My CG is at about 240+, Control throws are pretty aggressive, (I shall not say) KingTech 140G
This model is amazing, No bad habits. My T One will drop a wing at almost a full stop (Stall) others with CG at 230-235ish (Recommended) I hear just drops the nose. Again my setup is aggressive.
The T One is an absolute blast. It will be a great first jet and be as aerobatic as you want it to be.
A BIG thank you to Dirk and Barry at Pacific RC Jets for all the help and bringing us such a great quality affordable model.

HI all, my T-1 came out at 16lbs- 6.5 oz, out of the box. At BITW, at 240 cg., Ali said it was nose heavy. He also pointed out , it needed coupling for knife edge flight, it always wanted to roll over. I really liked the way it would land, like it was on rails and very predicable. It has good presence in the air.
The T-1 does need wing bags, as the paint will chip very easy.
For the price, it is really a great jet.

Thanks guys for sharing input via this thread. it will serve to be helpful to myself as well as other who follow us and purchase one of these jets. As I inspect my airframe closer I'm CONVINCED there will be more modelers acquiring one for their hanger!
I really have to hand to Dirk and his team for the quality of this model. I've built a lot of airplanes over time, and many from raw materials, so when I look at this airframe I can't help but marvel at not only the overall fit and finish, but the attention to smaller details.
As already documented they have taken feedback from the field and incorporated it into the current models. Thanks to Kris, Barry, Dirk, and others who provided this initial constructive feedback. The wood selected is clean and straight (not full of knots), glue joints are clean and thorough, and all the CF reinforcement is done with great care and planning.
I'll share some photos as I proceed, but my current impressions are even better than my initial awe. I commend Dirk on putting the brakes on orders so the factory can catch up to the demand. Essentially he is ensuring that future models are produced with the same care and quality that these first ones have been.
This model is fantastic value for the product produced. Can't wait to enjoy the flight characteristics!

The Cradle is done, only paint to finish it. I scanned the pattern in case anyone needs it to build a cradle. If you need them send me a message with your email.

Flight update.
today I got in 4 flights and she is all trimmed. I slowed down the steering servo and that made it much smoother on takeoff. Flaps ate trimmed and the gyro checked out too. This jet flys so smooth and has no bad tendencies. Basic flying shows that it is a very true flyer, yes its on rails! The first three flights my landings where spot on, smooth decent into a flair and with flaps no breaking was needed but applied as I need the practice.
By the forth flight I was on my own doing all my switching as with the new radio my switches are in unfamiliar locations, but I'm getting use to it. As you will see on the forth flight of the day my gear came down about 5 min in by the failsafe. Wind had calmed down and my landing was hotter then the previous landings, as you all know a plane will bounce and you can get into trouble, but this jet recovered really nicely from the rodeo
Top speed on the forth flight was 169mph in level flight, not in a dive! She curses around at 100-120 with ease. On my 6min flight I had a good 1/3rd of a tank left so I can see a 7min flight being NP.
Got out a little vide this time.

Ok so on the maiden the retracts held fine and did not come down by the failsafe. On flights 2-5 the gear came down after the 5min mark. If I remember my first flight was 5min so not sure if the gear would have come down on that flight. In the down position it will hold air all day, I guess I need to see why it's not holding air in the up position! I'm getting ready to install the BVM air plug into the wing so i will figure it out this week.

Good Job Tony!
I got to fly the T1 over the weekend and it was insane windy. It was an event at my home field and no one was flying So I went out and burnt up 7 gallons doing back to back flights. The T1 was pretty good in high winds and was allot of fun. I really did a lot of slow flying also and some hovering and even backwards flying in the high winds. Love flying this plane!
Barry and I will be taking it out this next week should be a good time!
