Isn't 5/32 the same as 4 mm. I would check 4mm to see if they fit.

I tried 3mm, 3.5mm and 4 mm, nothing works.

The wing bolts are 4mm. I had to replace 2 of them. One went in fine, the other one I had to run a tap thru. Either it had a bur or glue on it.

Can someone give me an idea of the quality of these models, in particular the finish? Is the paint at risk of chipping or is it well applied?

I'm tempted but haven't seen one in person.

Hi Siclick33,

I have had the pleasure of seeing several of the T1's and now own one. The paint quality has been excellent and as far as chipping I have heard it can happen when cutting or trimming areas. I have not personally experienced this with mine. The only thing with mine is the paint was not applied the same on one side of the aft fuselage. It is lighter than the rest of the aircraft, like it was not applied as thick or only one coat.

Cheers,

Jeff

I have built 5 or so T-1s now and the quality has been very consistent. Paint looks great and the structure is awesome. I have a lot of flights on mine now with zero issues. strong airframe and a TON of fun.

You wont be disappointed....

I waited almost 8 months for mine and it was worth the wait. It is very nice plane to build and the paint is great. I had to trim the opening on my hatches to get the servo arms where they would not rub. I found that if you are sanding you can chip the paint, but if you put a piece of painters tape on the area that needs sanded, it does not flake. I have not flown mine as my field is under a burn ban so we can't fly turbines yet, but I am look forward to flying mine.

No thread on the T3 but its a fantatistic bird and a joy to fly. It was the best flying jet I have ever flown. Only thing with it was the K300 was to much power. I would like to try one with a 210. I think the 250 is best.

Hope to build a mini T1 for Kentucky jets demo. I will do a build thread on it.

After reading this thread it looks like the Savox 1256tg servos are a good match for this aircraft, so I bought eight in anticipation of the arrival of my T1 this summer. Does the kit come with the little aluminum L brackets to mount the servos in the wings, or do I need to order those separate?

Thanks,

Tom

The L brackets come with it along with all the hardware, ball links and control rodes.

If you have the AirBeast gear... Reinforce the area around your pin. This is What happens if you don't. Thank goodness it was at an almost complete stop when it came apart. It looks like it is just pressed in and not welded or otherwise secured

Anyone else find the Flap system to be very sloppy in the up position due to the flap horn pivot being so far behind the flap hinge line? The geometry is just not right.

Concerned that this could cause flap flutter and the only way to fix this is to add new flap horns to the flaps, with the pivot point over the hinge line. .

Well the way it is now is 10 times better then the prototype. The one I have has tiny flap horns so you get no leverage at all. I ended up having to use 8711 servos on them for enough torque. As for flutter I have flown the prototype with a K210 for a few flights with no issues so I would say flutter is not going to happen. I have built one for a friend with the new longer horns and its allot better but I agree with you it could have been improved further.

Regarding the flaps, I'm on airplane build number five and have flown many T ones without any issues of flutter. just make sure your flap servos are set up correctly with proper holding power to keep the flaps up and you will have no problems.

Good luck
