Illini Super Jets 2016
Hey everyone,
We are now less than one month away from the annual Illini Super Jets, hosted by the Monticello Model Masters, at the fabulous Eli Field! Situated on the north side of scenic Monticello, Illinois, Eli Field features a 60'x800' asphalt runway with an adjacent freshly leveled and planted grass runway. Other features include overnight storage in our hangar, on-site catered lunch for purchase, and power for charging in our pit area. There are plenty of great restaurants and shops in Monticello, if that is your thing.
Be ready for the best lunch you have ever had at a jet meet. Pete Bergstrom of Praireland Catering will be on-site preparing fresh (healthy) meals.
Schedule:
Wednesday 8/10 - Saturday 8/13, Open Jet Flying
Saturday 8/13 - Noon show
Saturday 8/13 - 7:00 banquet dinner, Awards, Raffle, Auction.
Pre-registration until 7/22 - $50
registration on-site - $60
Banquet tickets - $25
Send registration info (e-mail) and payment (paypal) to [email protected]
Camping is allowed, no water hook ups, we are working on installing power (no promises yet).
Tents are available. If you require a tent, post your interests here and someone will be in touch with you. Sizes are 20 x 10, 20 x 20, 20 x 30 etc.
Sponsorships and Donations:
As always donations for the clubs raffle, auction, and pilots prizes are appreciated. Thank you to the following companies that have agreed to make contributions to the event.

There is a garage about 2 miles from the field toward Monticello that sells kero in bulk. Also they sell pump kero in Mahomet about 15 minutes from the field.
At least that where I have bought kero the last three years. I'm sure it's there.

Basically a week away!! The field is looking great. The club is putting in a bunch of effort this week to get everything near perfect. Donations for the pilot prizes/raffle/auction are flowing in.
This is should be a year to remember. If you fly jets or just want to see some of the best in the world, make sure you make it out!

Just my luck, I go and buy the official "Bob-O" stamp so I don't have to write my name on the back of the tickets. I wonder if I can get a refund on the stamp.
It's on your back if the event goes in the red because you won't let me buy any raffle tix.

Made the long trip back to Oklahoma including 300 miles in the rain but it was worth the drive. Great event with lots of flying and great people. Thanks to all the members and volunteers at Eli Field for making us Okies feel so welcome. Just a really great trip with relaxed daylight till after dark flying. And the food, WOW! Thanks to all those that put on the feeds, and to Ray Labonte for the lobster diner.
Special thanks goes out to Lavi who helped an old Okie solo and trim his new night flyer.
This one will be on our calendar for next year.
