Default AMT Mercury

Just wondering if anyone has run the older AMT Mercury air start turbines on diesel.

Never tried it when i had mine, but being an AMT I doubt it would care. AMTs will probably run on a gypsy's tears.

I built a Space Shuttle and put a Mercury in it. I also have a K 170. When it was time to test run the Mercury in the shuttle I didn't even think and pumped the diesel for the K170 into it. It started right away and ran fine.

No test flight yet. I may take it to Rt. 66 this year and try it after the show. I want to give it some room to run and see what it does.

Do any of you AMT guys know where an early AMT Mercury can be serviced? Service center. A friend has the original Mercury that was sent to the AMA back in the days when there was a Turbine Committee and turbines were being certified. He is beginning to have problems with it.
Thanks
Glenn
