Can you make a short video of your paint stripping process?
You have peaked my interest.
I believe you said scratch the surface with 80 grit sandpaper and then use a xacto blade.
80 grit is getting into the aggressive range for sand paper, so a video would be good to see how much surface prep you are doing before switching to the blade, and then showing the angle of the blade would be a great help.
p.s. I have a flash that I bought with a broken off nose that I repaired many years ago and still have it, it is the strongest airframe that I have seen. Now she is in need of a well deserved repaint.

Ok you Ultra Flash experts, I am having a hard time with the nose door. First flight had to do a gear up landing cause the nose spring on the strut caught the door on the way down. I tried making a wood wedge like in the manual but it wasnt designed around this nose strut. The spring is the problem. Also with the wood wedge when I steer the plane the spring moves a small amount left and right as well. Problem is if I put a wedge to have the strut bring door down first the wedge has to be too big to reach the strut so its fully closed when flying but when the gear is extended the strut is too close to the door and the wedge doesnt allow the door to sit sort of flush with the strut. Any ideas? Anyone has a pic of their installation with this particular strut???? Currently flying with out the door but would like to put it on...

Rich,
I will ask David.
meanwhile, work continues.
1. Fuse is applied filler (Primer, hardner and Aeroseal compound).
2. repaired areas (which are glassed) are spackled using aerospace compound
3. elevator rear seam (which was open under the paint!) repaired and glassed.
4. intakes repaired and glassed
5. Carbon Tail skid installed.
6. nose wheel structure repaired.
7. canopy frame voids filled.

Elevator compounded, sanded smooth, primered to fin pin holes, compounded again and primered again.
This elevator has many many dings around its leading edge from the jet going off runway into the gravel several times, and had a few scuffs in the tips from bouncing around in landings.
Check it out now:

David is continuing his great work on the UF.
intakes have been set back to original position, glued with structural epocy and then glassed to fuse with the fuselage inlets.
fuel tank received new brackets (made of airex / CF sandwich, super light and strong) and the fuel tank stopper has rubber tape coating.
Fuel tanks sanded clean and repaired with glass.
Perfection has its price

Work continues.David sanded the intake inlets flush with the fuse, and they are good to go.He also installed a new canopy tube and rod, and fit 2 different canopy frames to the fuselage, one is painted (silver) with canopy installed and the other is just a bare frame which he stripped off all paint also. Then front landing gear bay structure was reinstalled (it was removed when repairs started to allow access to fuse repairs).pics attached.
