Sorry got it. Do we still run the extra power cable into a spare port into the CB?

The CB200 will ALWAYS need additional power to anything other than a single Jeti receiver plugged into one of the Rx port. Drawing more than 300Mah from a CB200 Rx port WILL permanently damage the CB200.

As for your previous wiring diagram, I think I'd be tempted to connect a 2.4Ghz (in default mode) with a clone and then connect the R900 directly to the Cortex. Doing so would always provide stabilized data to the CB200. Of course I'm not currently a Cortex or an R900Mhz user so if Danny recommends differently, I'd follow his recommendations..
One other thing that hasn't been mentioned, since you were planning to use the latest CB200 firmware that supports 3 Rx, make sure NOT to select the fast switching, or mixing mode or whatever they call it as it could then rapidly switch between stabilized and not stabilized data, assuming you had the Cortex and a receiver directly connected which I would think could cause issues with servos jumping, etc.

B being your number 1 RX and A is your number 2 receiver

6 goes into Cb200 RX 1 and 5 into RX 2

‘I should add I’m using doublepath in all my cb200 and 400 with no problems...

‘Yes always run an extra power cable, the R3 900 into ext the port need to be set, and for that you need the latest update and bin.

Default Servo conections

I've never used a gyro before. Currently I have my ailerons connected thru a "Y" connector. Do I need to assign the ailerons to separate channels on the receiver in order for the gyro to function correctly. I assume I do, just making sure.

like mentioned you don’t. But it is always a got practice to get rid of Ys wherever applicable if your radio allows

When I power up the gyro, it goes thru activating servos connected, then it goes into a continuous flashing green light. I'm unable to do the inputs from the TX.

Please read the instructions, it describes every step you need to do.
Step1: teach the signal input type.
Step2: Teach the gyro the TX inputs.

What Bob meant to say is the instructions describe every step you MUST do, EXACTLY, and in sequence. Without step 1, the controls will not respond and you cannot proceed to step 2. Take your time and be methodical. Also, be SURE and check the proper direction of movement for all surfaces after you teach the TX inputs. This means the elevator, ailerons and rudder should "follow" the direction airplane moves. For example, if you lift the tail up..the elevator should deflect up. If you move the tail left, the rudder should deflect left.

The good news; when you have the gyro installed and dialed in properly you will really appreciate what you have been missing!

Looking for a definitive answer regarding CB200 v1.31 "Switchover Strategy" when used with two R3/RSW's through a Cortex Pro then to R1 and R2 on the CB200, along with a R900 NOT through the Cortex Pro (instead, plugged in to EXT on the CB200).

All devices have the latest firmware installed. Everything is working as it should, including the R900 (ie, the servos move when they should, even when the two R3's are disabled).

The one thing I'm not sure about is which switchover strategy should be used.

Thanks,
...jim

Unless the Cortex Pro has adopted the same switching strategy then there can be no benefit to using it on the CB200 since the Cortex Pro will handle all the switching between the 2.4Ghz receivers. And since the R900 doesn't even do anything useful until the 2.4Ghz link goes down enough to activate the 900Mhz link, there is no benefit to fast switching there either as far as I can tell.

Does anybody have a picture of a Futaba Sbus connection for the Demon Cortex Pro? Can I just connect it into the sbus2 hub and run the sbus2 hub cable into the receiver's Sbus 2 port?

Run a cable from ch8/SBus port on the rx to port B on the Cortex. You will need to set the Rx to Mode D and then remap your functions in the Tx. The flight surface functions will be 1-8 in the Tx.

Tried. And no luck, it goes thru the led set up but when I hit the aux switch it doesn't flashes green multiple times, indicating everything is ok. Another thing I noticed is that the servos don't jitter. I'm using Sbus 2 servos. Maybe that's causing the issue? Who knows?

Yes. Everything as per manual. I'm emailing the support team at Bavarian Demon to see what they suggest.

One more thing did you set the receiver to mode “D” which is required to have an SBus output on port 8?

Yes. That's how I had it set up to run both Sbus ports
