The original from manufacture was of good quality but designed for a 100 size turbine. Since we decided to go with 140 size turbines we custom ordered pipes from Tam...

thanks.

With their recommended turbine (Merlin 100 XBL and 500g of lipos up front, it perfectly hit the recommended CG (done with my Xicoy CG machine). Again these are preliminary numbers but she comes in at 22.6 lbs with an empty main and full UAT.

Omar, I really discourage pilots from using other builders measurements outright. Your actual measurements are key to your CG being calculated correctly. No two builders build the same (even with the same components). Hopefully your using these for reference to compare with your own and with that in mind here they are.

Front - Main = 711 mm
Mains - CG = 34 mm

Happy Flying!!!!!

Thank you for the information and the figures, absolutely the figures will be for reference, my CG for first flight was at 52 mm Main-CG which was tooooo nose heavy, now i put it back to 38 mm and will test it this weekend if its up to my liking. i like to fly a bit nose heavy planes.

thank you for the support again.

Cheers!

Hello,

I have a question about the flap position for normal flying, when the flaps are up, are they meant to be higher than the ailerons or on the same level? mine is higher than the airleron by like 3 mm if they are fully up, is that the correct setup or i need to get them leveled to the Ailerons.

thanks for the reply.

On my plane they are higher then the ailerons but on my friend's plane (Red color)they are same level. They both fly the same way.

Just wanted to share that I also finally maiden my gold mini today! Our weather hasn't been cooperating but today was the day. I must say that I'm really pleased with the jet and comments that it flies like a trainer is correct (that is a very fast trainer). As shown in the previous pics, mine has an Igyro SRS and it flew like it was on rails. The only issue I ran into was while I was trimming her on the maiden, I deployed full flaps at too high of a speed and both servos burnt out (100% my fault). I will replace them with some of our higher torque options. If your on the fence, do yourself a favor and pull the trigger!

Happy flyin!

Thx Desert Fox! As normal for me, I attempted to record the maiden but my GoPro was set to picture mode instead of video. On my next outing, I'm planning to record some video to share.

Yep, it was beautiful day at LMAC! In fact, we had about 4 maidens that day. HSD Turbo Foam Super Viper, Mini Diamond, a large Scale Stearman and a Freewing F5 Tiger. Great Day of Flying!

Today was flight #4 and she's really getting dialed in! This is a great plane to fly and has a great feel in the air! Enjoy the quick vid!

Hello guys,
at first sorry for my bad English.
I can not find informations about the Mini in German forumīs.
Iīm interested at the Mini and think about to install a B140F turbine to go fast.
Maybe there will be a problem of the higher TOW as with a Merlin 100, because our airfield have only 120m length.
I calculate nearly 1Kg more at take of (little more fuel) and 0,4Kg more at landing with the BF instad of the Merlin 100X-BL.
The take of will be not the problem ;-)
Is the plane stable enough with a 140N turbine to go full power.?
Is it possible to fly (land) at 120m?

@ leemkl06: I see the nice slow and short landing in your video, What is the weight of your Mini?

Regards from Germany

23.10lbs (10.48kg) dry and 26.56 lbs (12.05kg) wet.

Also, all of the videos I've seen with a 140 has been very impressive! (have a look at post #80)
