Johnny I know there are hard points in the wing, it was one of the items I made sure was in the design from the first production kit, the drop tanks not sure but Wagner will I am sure confirm either way.

Enjoy

Billy
I have a question on the build of this plane. Was shown a picture of the inside and also contacted Wagner. The entire plane is built and reinforced with carbon fiber except the electronics plate. My concern is radio placement and interference with soo much carbon fiber? Any thoughts? Will be using Spektrum AR12120. Where to mount antennas! Can't find a place where there is no carbon fiber

Johnny,

The entire plane is all fiberglass composite only the formers are carbon fiber composite, what you see all black it is the interior paint finishing not CF, but follow Rich instructions and you'll be ok

Yes, there are lots of CF reinforcement on the sides, tail, nose, you can not see them because of the layup system, what I meant to explain to Johnny is the inside that is painted in dark gray is not all CF, it is only finishing.

Mark,
If you look at the photo I referenced you can see the CF reinforcement, the prototype model did not have the internal fuselage painted from the factory.

I setup my antenna's as I would normally do on any fiberglass fuselage, only weak direction was from the aft, tailpipe, turbine, and fuel tanks did block the signal so I relocated one satellite to a high point in the fuselage above the inlets, no more issues. One satellite is located above the battery up front in the nose, and the other one is on the fuselage side. Now have about 90 flights with no issues. The cf formers themselves have not been a problem.

It would be best if the interior wasn't painted so you could see where the carbon is. Rich, if you remember in KY I moved one Rx about an inch and it made quite a difference in reception.

Those pictures are from the prototype and clearly show the carbon fiber position we did not change the position on the production jets but we change the way we layup them.

Johnny unless the design has changed there are two main tanks and a third feeder tank which sits in between the ducts and is kinda triangular in shape.

I'm sure one of the Vixen build threads shows a customer who has added smoke and shows his setup.

Marc,

Vixen has 4 thanks, 2
saddle and 2 on the intakes "Y" one of them is the header and the other is the smoke tank.

Both small tanks sit Way in-front of the CG. Using it for smoke is not a good idea because the jet will become Very tail-heavy after you use up your smoke fluid..... BTW I did not use the small tanks.....
Thanks Billy D
