What about having fully stabilized 24 channels,
or plugging receiver with gyro to the power distributions and having all servo stabilized,
or having full Jeti transmitter integration and setting all function from Tx wirelessly,
or using Telemetry Functions and set up fully stabilized descend,
or ..... let your imagination go wild

As a JR 12X fan, can I suggest that you check out the Futaba 18SZ and the new Spektrum DX20? They both feel pretty much like my 12X radios with some slight differences the biggest one for me, is that the switch location/placements on the SZ are not as good as the MZ or the new DX20.
Oh, they both weigh about what the 12X does.....

Hi,
Just curious, is Spektrum as popular at some US larger jet meetings as this Spektrum represenative claim?

He did not say at what larger jet meetings that high percentage of Spektrum was in use.

The one reason I won't even consider a Jeti is due to the fellas pushing them on here. Shame really.
Like I said, your loss...

Same seems to be true at my local club. There are about 100 members with several of us (5?) flying Jeti, about an equal number of Futaba, a number of older JR transmitters using Spektrum technology and virtually everyone else flies Spektrum with a few still flying older 72Mhz gear.

Since there are lots of choices and I see no reason to switch, then yes, an abrasive salesman will stear me away from his product. That same salesman with proper sales skills could have effected a sale of his product even if the buyer wasn't really rhinking about changing. It's marketing 101 stuff, make the potential buyer WANT your product, not repulse them with your attitude. At the end of the day (since the radio business is all about attracting the most customers from our small pool of pilots) it's the radio company who gets the fewest sales that ultimately loses.

Since DX20 is specifically mentioned in the thread title, does anyone know why they've recalled the DX20 now ? At first I thought it was some sort of cruel April Fools joke but the recall was issued a few days ago. And when I searched, the DX18 and it doesn't seem to show up any more, has that been discontinued too ? I can understand that it doesn't make sense to have an 18 AND a 20 channel transmitter but at least wait until the new product is stable and actually available before discontinuing it's predecessor..

No it's NOT a rumor unfortunately for some of us. Horizon calls it a Service Bulletin which is usually voluntary but I told the Horizon guy that having to send my tx back made it a recall.... lol
They, or at least the guy I talked to, are not saying what is the problem.
Same thing happened with my JR 12X which was in the first batch Horizon got. With it, there was a battery charger problem.

Oh, somebody over on FG pointed me at the link on Spektrum's website but I never could find the thing so I went looking at Horizon.
