Unreal. I never met Roger but he it's one of the few long time guys that I remember from back when I started with turbines. He will be missed for sure.

Very sad news. I always did think very highly of Roger and his contribution to our hobby, along with being a good friend. Then I got to work with him as he organized the US effort to host the JWM's in Dayton, and I grew to appreciate his business and leadership skills as well. He will be missed.... Rest in Peace, Roger.

We were great friends I'll miss all of the laughs on the other end of the phone if you ever talked to him you know what I'm sayin ! You walk in his garage man cave you will see how much flying meant to him ,trophys everywhere rc magazines on the wall with him on the front . The A10 sitting right in the middle of the floor right now ( We just took it out of the trailer the other day ) He has so many friends you just couldn't help but love him , he has left a lasting impression on everyone that's been with him and a everlasting on the hobby , one thing you can say not another one like him . He went just the way he wanted . Jerry

Flyin Ryan Robertson, Roger always called him BIG R. We would like to send a prayer up to Roger as I no he is looking down on each and everyone of us as we type in this thread. Roger was one of those guys that always brought something special to the table. He was always positive and straight forward and so much fun to be around. He always encouraged my son to do his best at everything. This year Ryan flew his Helicopter and Jet for Roger at Route 66 as we promised him, he made sure we brought a helicopter this year so he could perform for all the school kids. so many things to mention as I type this, I will stop there. Miss you BUDDY, SEE YOU IN HEAVEN SOME DAY. Todd and BIG R Robertson.

I'm am sad to hear this, and I wish the best to his family.

I never met Roger in person, but I spent a lot of time with him on the phone, and I considered him to be a good friend. Years ago I bought an Aggressor III from him that I still have. I reverse-engineered some of the building techniques used in that airplane. I still use many of those building techniques today.

I had the pleasure of meeting Roger at Superman way back when. He, Jimbo and his wife, and later "Izzie" were some of the first people I met when I started flying jets. Roger was always a gentleman and with his help I got to travel to Northern Ireland and Hungary serving on the World Jet Masters team with some of the greatest characters god ever graced this Earth with. I will miss Roger. He was a gentleman, a friend, and an ambassador to this hobby. He will be greatly missed. Blue skies old friend. i hope to see you again one day at the big flying field in the sky.

Rest in peace Roger. The RC world and Humanity on the whole has lost a great man. Roger was that guy that made everyone feel special. First met him at RT66 jets and cannot imagine what it will be like without him. The RT66 club will never be the same but will never forget Roger.

I didn't know Roger all that well, but he gave the inspiration to get a Mibo A-10. He was a distribution point for Mibo in North America before Ultimate Jets became involved. I would pour over his website about the pictures, parts and comments made about the A-10. When I went to the Dayton to see the WJM that year I got to meet and see him in full action during the event. As others had said he was quit the great organizer.
Like I said Roger you were inspiration to me and I am sure we will all miss your knowledge and professionalism.

We are devastated by this news. I don't really know where to begin. All I know is that Roger was a kind and loving person who had a real passion for rc turbine jets. Roger had a passion for everything he did. He loved my family and we loved him. His tutelage and encouragement were always present and he was a great mentor who always encouraged us to be our best in competition - and life. I will miss Roger. You beat us to the punch-out my friend. My goal is to continue to work toward scale jet competition that we discussed at Rt. 66. Tailwinds and an clear skies are before you now Roger.

God willing I will get to fly with you in heaven when my time comes.

I got the call Monday morning from Andy Andrews and at first I found it difficult to believe what I heard. Roger and I spent a considerable amount of time talking on the phone and he was always full of spirit and life. It just seems like last week when we were together at Route 66. The RC Jet community has just lost an icon but his spirit will live on. Andy and I will be pursuing some projects together that Roger was most enthusiastic about and wishes to see continued. In that spirit Roger will be missed but not forgotten. Dan Bott

Roger will be greatly missed. We always valued our happy hour together at R66 and I will never forget him, his smile and joking around. We are all better for knowing him.

I hadn't realized that it was Rich's 106 when I posted that photo which was taken about 16 years ago at FJ. Roger was my caller with the F4 at FJ that year. The F4 is still flying.

As with Roger I spent some happy, fun times in the US with Rich, a great guy who tragically left us just too young. His 106 was absolutely beautiful and, I believe, completely scratch built.

David.
