I read somewhere in CARF manual that you can adjust the link to get the angles right..i assure you it is not the way to go...what a PITA

No I actually fly a 35. Both the F-22 and the F-35 could take the Su-37 at distance. F-22 could survive at close encounter. F-35 can't maneuver like the Su-37 so it would rely on it's bag of tricks. In any case, they could all take each other, but with a Defense spending ratio of 12:1, I bet on my guys. :-)

...but its now its absolutely perfect . Bear in mind the model is with out the weight of the components. Once everything is in ,the nose leg will be more compressed,
and it will look right.

Now the mains are big and heavy. I solved the problem by adding a second cylinder with only the "up" line connecting to it .

And the problem wasnt only setting up the angles of the gear. The main dubro wheels are *****.
They cant handle the forces of a landing or take off !! and you can loose control at high speed and crash it big time like the guy in this video

The gear mounting woods are very strong . But i like to build things once. So G10 sides got glued as reinforcments with hysol.
Still light but now.. waaaaay stronger.

Bear in mind that this are also engine mounts .And the engine it self contributes of the strength of the main gear

Now back to the cr@p dubro tires. .. they went straight to the bin.
There is no other tire in this dimensions out there that can keep up with the load and the forces involved in this model.
So...i had to make mine

Anton, you just made my night! I inquired to CARF if they would add canards and make a one seater of their Su-27, they said no. I can't stand the bubble top canoey of the two-seater. Sure would be nice to make it 1/7th. This plane is 71' long... transporting a 1/6 version is gonna be yuuuuuuge.

I love the large planes skymaster are bringing out but I agree with you on size. Hopefully skymaster will do some 2m-2.5m size planes as well cause I cant transport 3m size models sadly

Nick

I bought this just to transport planes. My 1/4 yak fits, but man is it hard to put in and take out. It surprises me that the market is dictating larger and larger planes. Not everyone has trailers and vans. Anton, please make a 1/7th single seat/canard Sukhoi!

That aluminum tire plug looks very familiar! Looks like you modified my procedures here and there, but it's nice to see that my tire making thread helped someone out.
I noticed (google translated just enough for me to read about 1/4 of the words) that you mixed micro balloons into the urethane for the tires. I assume you did that to try to make the tires lighter. My ME262 tires were very heavy, and I never really found a good solution (although I didn't think of micro balloons).

How did that solution work out?
Do you think the addition of the micro balloons will affect how the tire tread wears during use?

Great job! Looks like it will be a nice jet when finished.

I do not use the mixing nozzles.I always mix on paper first well and then i put the premixed hysol in a siringe to work as you can see in the photos. Try it.

My hysols from Dreamworks are not even close to expiration date.
Plus its easy to check by trying scraching them with the tip of blade.Mine are hard like a glass!

Bear in mind that this work was six years ago and my work has already been proved to be reliable!

Build to last!

Hi there Kevin, thank you!
I put photos of your aluminium plug to show an example of excelent craftmachip!

I used the original dubro tire as plug!
I spent more than a month tests and yes final is strong and light!
Yes use microbaloons! Thead i guess will survive depenting on the braking usage..
I still havent worn out my first set !

Boy you reminded me one very funny story with them microbaloons!!!!

At the time i had run out of microbaloons. So a friend was placing an order for resins and offered to include a 1liter bucket of microbaloons for me.Later when order arrived we met in the center of Athens for coffie so i pay him and get the microbaloons...

And that was veery funny!!! Why? Just imaging!

Two guys in the center of Athens ! One is giving money to the other ,
and the other giving buck a bucket with white dust LMAO

Not wise at all doing this in the midle of Athens hahaha
Specialy when most cops dont even know English to read the backet description lol

...away on a buisness trip..more to follow soon !

Do you mean 15% of the volume is microballoons? I used this product for my tires: https://www.smooth-on.com/products/pmc-780-dry/

Hello Kevin ,
NO! As i said ,15% in weight!
My tests shown good resaults up to 21%.
But best combination of strenth and weight saving is 15% to maximum 18% .
I would not recoment more...use presicion weigth scale and add the microbaloons not all at once but in smaller doses.. this way mixing is easyer
