but my flight envelope does include 4-point and slow rolls so i am getting them rudders
rudders been cut out and robart hinges will be used.
The inner hinge suport wood is made from multiple layers of 2mm balsa and 80gr fibreglass cloth in between !
And its hysoled in place!

And you have seen them REALY UGLY rudder links sticking out from the fins side. Not in this one.
Steel torque " Γ "rod passing thru and under the elevon servos makes a perfect hidden link.
The space where the rod will turn the rudder and it will get fulled with hysol.
The sides got reinforced with G10 as can be seen

Remember the torque rod must be aligned PERFECTLY with the hinges pivot point so servo wont be fighting the setup. Simple jig make this a piece of cake.
Next with scrap balsa and sandpaper making the LE of the rudder.
tip: The corect radius in each point is half the thickness of the rudder on that point
..some putty and sand and putty and fine sanding will give perfect gap result!

And with my HotSpot as TestBed i am doing trials in a quiet parking place
25 years ago playing with Estes rockets had learned me how to fold a chute and with the help of PowerBox,
control was made from a single channel triple switch : 0= In 1=deploy 2=release (just in case lol)
Fishing wire pulling the model from the wing tube ,long enough to be away from the engine.
TEST CHUTE VIDEO LINK ! >> http://www.petame.gr/forumv/showthre...2648#post82648

After alot of test fit and geometry trials its ready.Made out of strong G10.
Single channel operation again with the help of PowerBox .
Controlled with a triple switch, 0=closed , 1=compartment elevation and chute deployment , 3= chute release (just in case)
In the photo the deployment cylinder can be seen .It gets triggered with a trigger air switch once the compartment has reached the upper point.
The servo that holds the chutes is glued in the fuselage. The chutes stress the main wing spar and not the servo.Easy reloading even if released

Hello Nick , of coarse mate.
Ill be free till first of August
Because i am the modeller/Display Pilot for Athens Flying Week2017 .....our full size airshow, and i will be practising my display.
And right after the AirShow im practising to defend my first place in the Greek FAI Championship for the third year in aerobatics ..
...and right after that i do not want to see or hear anything that has to do with aviation for a month!!!!!!!!
My brain accepts only fishing talk or it will explode LMAO
