Jetcat spt5 help...
Just seeing if anyone out there with possible easy suggestions...
I have an spt5 turbo prop and its flaming out when you fluctuate the throttle...like when you would taxi.
And sometimes when you throttle back from full throttle to idle.
The data display shows low rpm for the code....

Weak Fuel pump. Had the exact same thing happening on a brand new P-100. I set the Idle RPM up 500 and it would not flame out. However, the plane would move on its own at idle. When I called George to ask what was happening, he sent me a new fuel pump. I set the RPM back to the OEM set point and put in the new fuel pump. I have about 50 flights on it now w/o a flame out.
It is kind of a bummer doing a stall turn and the flame goes out when you pull the throttle all the way back. It would flame out on the runway as I landed too. For me, ... setting up the idle worked for a temporary bandaid fix to get me thru the event. Setting up the throttle on the SPT5 could be a bit harry if it is like the one we have in the club here. That plane is already a handful to land. Can't imagine landing it with the prop spinning more RPM at idle.

Ok....good info....however , I did up the rpm to 55000 at idle.....still flamed out. I think I need to try a couple of things like recalibrate the temp sensor.
I think though you may be onto it with a weak fuel pump.
It's the transition point from full or mid to idle...
The sound of poping from unatomized fuel in the combustion chamber then poof....it's out.
Not every time but most.....
And your right....that's hairy when in a turn.

Hi, is this a new turbine? If yes, try running your pump on the prime mode for a few minutes on higher voltage. We had seen that the pump was too tight so it would stall on low throttle. Also, you might want to check your vent line to make sure enough air can come through.

I've never really played with a Jetcat... but on a Xicoy ECU... I would raise the deceleration delay a little. That would help too. That way... it won't overshoot the low RPM pump value. It may work better than just raising the idle point.

Its the motor brushes. The can motors we are using are not the same quality they once were. We use them at very low voltages, so the brush gear is more critical. If you can run the pump with a loop (fuel in it) at 2v for an hour, its to bed in the brushes more than the pump.
I use a 2v Glow Jelly battery or my Graupner charger that has a motor run in option for running brushed motors.
