That looks like it fly's very well Anton, you may have just come up with the best power solution for this model!

Anton,

Awesomeness. That looks superb. I have already got my two K160 just waiting on the full function wing then I will order one. I like the color schemes below but think the camo one has my name on it. Cant wait.

Have a great day

Regards

JB

Anton

Looks good Can we see it flown with all the stores. Load it up!!!! I am close to pulling the trigger! Love F4s. I really enjoy my Skymaster 1/7.5 scale one now! It needs a bigger stable mate

Hi Anton,

I am a big fan of the SM scale planes especially in the IAF colors... this ones seems to be off. The scale colors are all wrong for this F-4.
If thats what the customer wants - fine.
Just wanted you to know.

Best regards,
Ziv

Having built one of the "smaller" SM Rhinos a number of years ago, I was excited when Anton announced the 1/6 scale Phantom. The quality of the paint and the construction is very good, but as modelers, we're always looking to change something. The changes that I made are modelers choice and certainly not things that must be done.

I contacted John Mesolella at Matrix Machine ([email protected]) to have him make an air extendable nose strut. The strut that he made uses the SM nose wheels as provided by the customer. As usual, his machine work is superb. I sent my nose retract to John for sizing so he installed the strut and faux cylinder for me, however the installation of both are simple bolt ons. The stroke of the air extension is approximately 2 inches. John has the strut and cylinder priced at $549.

The fuel system supplied with the kit are 2 saddle tanks of approximately 100 oz. each and a middle tank of 116 oz. This configuration is perfect for a single engine installation, however I'm installing twins, mid mount. The preference is to have the fuel systems individual for each turbine. The supplied method has the middle tank feeding the saddle tanks, thus a shared fuel system. I decided to enlarge the saddle tanks by ordering another set of the tanks and then removing the front from one tank, the rear from another and joining them. I now have 175 oz. tank per turbine and I can use the middle tank for smoke oil or choose not install it.

The installation of the tanks are in a large open area and the mounting method is left to the builder. I made plywood tabs glued to the rear of the tanks which fit into a slot already milled in the forward turbine mount bulkhead. On the top forward portion of the tank, I glued a carbon fiber L bracket. This bracket gets screwed onto a plywood block that I glued to the fuselage. These two mounts keep the tanks from moving fore and aft as well as secure the upper portion of the tanks. The bottom of the tanks are approximately 2mm above the top of the installed wings. Carbon L brackets will be glued to the top of the wing surfaces and will keep the bottom of the tanks from moving inwards. With these 3 mounts, the tanks will not be able to move in any direction.
