Video reminds me of the old VHS days, problem is back then I could see really good and resolution was bad, now I can't see and HD looks like VHS again. Guess I was born at the wrong time, oh well...

Hi All

Anybody got some building pics of the Big F4 or flying videos?

Has anyone with twin set up tried to take off and fly with one turbine. Like a K160 twin set up.

Still the best looking jet.

Have a great day
Regards

JB

Original stab control horn. Skymaster recently released an updated stab control horn. Works great but leaves you with pushrods that are too short and nobody wants a short pushrod!

New control horn with clevis attachment directly above the pivot point. Good geometry but it leaves the original pushrods 3/4" too short.

The new pushrods are made from 3mm stainless threaded rod running through stainless tube. The material was sourced from McMaster-Carr. Threaded rod part number 94185A578 and the tube part number 89895K726.

Threaded rods cut to length first.

Tubes cut to length and slid over the threaded rod. I cut the tubes to fit against the clevis but if you'd like to use jam nuts just cut the tubes shorter.

Finished pushrods. If these fail, I probably have bigger problems! :-)

Hi Anton, yes, you're right, however I didn't have enough room on the servo plate to move the mounts back enough. The new control horn is well worth whatever extra effort is needed though.

Nice Phantom Mike! What makes the new stab mechanism superior. The machined plates seem much stronger?

Thanks for the kind words Dom! Look forward to seeing you again.

Bob, There is a tendency for the servos to stall at full up or full down due to pushrod binding with the machined plates. Also, the mounting point for the pushrods are 3/4" forward of the pivot point whereas the new mount is on the pivot point. The new mount has carbon plates on the top and bottom of the stab connector so the load is being spread over a larger footprint than the machined plate.

Merry Christmas to you gents and wishing all a very happy and healthy New Year!
