I have to install a speed sensor.
I would like to be sure that my plane does not fall because of a speed that is too low

i have never felt the need for that, the Odyssey is a very predictable bird to fly.

At 4 tree height after flame out I floated nearly twice around the circuit no flaps no wind ... there's a lot of wing

I have just received my Odyssey. The retract & brake controller seems to be an updated version from the one supplied a couple of years ago.
Does anyone have a link to the manual sheet for this new controller, as I can only find the sheet for the older version, or photos of the wiring connections?
This new version has no positive, or negative symbols on it, so I have no idea which way the wires are plugged in.
I am also wondering if the manual button works with just the battery & the retracts attached?

Good luck getting an instruction sheet. I asked for one when I first received my Odyssey about 5 months ago.
I havent been able to get the retracts to work with just the controller but they are supposed to.
I will attach a sheet they sent me with mine.
the red/signal wires orient to the top of the controller. Black to the bottom.

Hope this helps

Keith

Also, check the wires that come from the brakes. I found that the connector is wired wrong. The red wire should be in the outside pin not the middle. I modified an extension so the red wire went to the signal or outside pin and the black stayed on the other outside pin.

Many thanks for the info. I found this vid on You tube which shows a guy testing the retracts without the Tx or Rx. He is using a servo tester plugged into the Rx retract port of the controller. I tried this & it works.
With your info & his vid, all should be ok.

What size engines are you guys running. I have a SW-140b in mine. I have a buddy that is talking about a 160 or 170. I’m happy with the performance with the 140. Just wanted to see if anyone that is running a larger motor and can comment.

i have flown the Odyssey on anything from 100N to 160N.
for me 120N felt like the perfect balance, but no issues with 160N.

this bird is very versatile.

Mike at Gator Hobbies is the importer of Top Rc in the US. I fly mine with a SW 190 and love it!

Just finished building my Odyssey. Weight came out at exactly 13 kilos. No added weight. Powered by Jetcat P130.
I am a bit concerned by the lack of give in the oleos. Even full of fuel, it takes a lot of downward pressure on the model to get the oleos to start to compress.
They are the Top RC oleos.
Anyone else had this problem & bad effects on landing?
