I love my Spec. gen 1. NO problems with it.
I will continue using it. NO need to buy another.

You need to remember, everything mechanical or electrical can fail, no matter where it comes from. I work on Corporate jets and components fail on them also, even every once in a great while I will receive a new part that is bad. Full size aircraft have many more redundant systems for that reason. The reason you may see more Spektrum problems is probably because there are so many more of them out there compared to the other brands. I have a friend that lost a Jeti receiver in flight, but he had two on board and didn't crash his aircraft. I have two DX18 Gen 1 radios and bunches of Spektrum receivers, all have worked great. I always run new radios and receivers in test planes that i have and bench run servos first{ although this is no guarantee either!} maybe I'm lucky !!

I bought my Spectrum DX18 Gen 1 because they said it was the last radio I would ever need! Then they promptly put a speaker in the Gen 2 and made it talk to you. Then added talking telemetry. If I want some one to talk to me, I will talk to my spotter, and ask him how much time I have left. LOL I already know when I put my flaps and Gear down, too.............

Truer words have likely never been spoken here on RCU.

I think what Mr. Holston is eluding to is that not all of us want "exciting" in our radios. But ALL of us want (nay, DEMAND) reliability.

To Mr. JetiUSA, make another RCU sign in and make all of your personal remarks under that sign in and it might, MIGHT mitigate some of the way your posts rub people the wrong way.

It may be RCU policy that you can't do that without disclosing your JETI affiliation, but if you reveal in your sig that you are a Jeti employee, yet "these are my personal beliefs/opinions" it might save you some "face".

Everyone deserves an opinion. Even if it can get you banned!

Dear insider, I personally know that F-14 and I've flown with that F-14 and what happened to that F-14 was hashed out here ad infinitum. All done at my buddy's expense unfortunately. What can you personally know that the owner doesn't?

I still have mine!

And we were both lied to.

We bought them at the same time.

Oh, I see, you are trying to lie!!!

Well, dear sir, speculation is one thing, and THAT's all good and fun, but slander is all together different and may even be illegal in your Ugandan country!

You have Ian Oberholser building lots of jets for you?
Yes, Lowell lied. He said the jets were tested.

In his defense, maybe "tested" is defined rather broadly.

No one warned us about these jets. Nobody.

Nobody knew yet that they were flying time bombs.

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, builds for me.

I build all of my airplanes.

Not everyone has the time or desire to build. That's why people are people. We are all different.

I never got my money back. I don't feel like it is something I can do.

I am sure NOBODY told me anything about Fried-Entrails before I bought, or I would've saved a few thousand dollars.

What else you got?

That being said.
Again...would you have Ian build you an F-14?
Would you have accepted the mods he did, and then blamed the manufacturer for failure of the stab mechanism? Which was poorly exectuted, worse than stock?
Would you have demanded that the manufacturer replace the airframe, engines, and radio too?
How come there are other FE F14s flying just fine?
Ian builds just fine. As a matter of fact, I was just thinking about him the other day. I haven't seen him in a while and I'd like to say hi and see how he and his family are doing.

There are like ZERO "fine" flying FEJ F-14's flying. Dude, stop it.

I see I'm getting pulled into the dirt.

My F-14 was the first honeycomb model and we didn't reinforce the honeycomb formers with plywood, which is what other people did later. Lesson learned. Eventually FEJ abandoned using honeycomb for their formers.

You are correct, I did demand FEJ cover the cost for the plane and everything in it after they tried to blame my batteries, but I did not ask for them to cover the radio. Maybe who ever you are getting information from confused radio with radio gear. My "demands" were stated in the original F-14 thread. You also left out that I had the factory guys inspect the plane before it flew and was told everything checked out.

Aside from FEJ, I have not bashed other companies, so stop trying to make something out of nothing.

Finally, why are you hiding behind an anonymous account?

He also built a Jetlegend F20 that went in for the same reason. Nobody else had that problem.
I'm looking for all the FE F14s that went in like Dantleys....and can't see any.
Ian is a nice fellow...who should stick to sewing wingbags.
But I don't care to defend Flyeagle. Not my job.
Just tired of hearing DubD bash others. Enough. While promoting Elite Aerosports and Skymaster...not exactly people with clean hands.
So...ZB...he was cut off from selling Horizon products. His dealership was removed. And nobody knows the story?
Ok, so I'm having a slow day and I went read through Ian's build.

Here, you can see the vertical stab and rudder on the bottom and on the right, you see the elevator mechanism.

Looks pretty good to me.

And if you read Ian's thread, you can see where EDFjim maid some mods of his own.

What else you got?

You are all over the place.

You say FEJ F-14's are the BVM bandit of the F-14 world and then you say someone else was having problems with one too.

Its like listening to a schizophrenic in the ER. Vivid. And spectacularly interesting.

Wait, FEJ's poor design caused Spektrum to recall receivers and end ZB's Horizon dealership?
