Damiano F86 1:4

The fun and serious work begins today, the nerve racking business of checking levels, lining up, formers vertical etc.
The pleasure when I start some gluing, checking, gluing etc. and afterwards yet another check and everything is fine is immense.
I am a happy bunny, had a couple of parts that I couldn't find a home for but Damiano soon sorted that for me allowing me to crack on.
Not much to show for it yet but pics anyway.

The main fuselage section is pretty solid when glued but there is obviously a lot of flex in the rear section so today I jumped the gun and slapped the first sheet of 2mm balsa on one side after carefully checking centre line and levels. That one sheet has put paid to the flexing!
The proof of the pudding shows that the all important alignment between the main structure, the spar and especially the tailplane is spot on, I expect therefore that like Damiano's model very little trimming should be needed provided I can build the wings and tail straight!
I'm feeling happy now.
