RCU needs to step into the 2000's and get a app for there site!!! It would help out so so many people to see our great jets and fun times!!!
Just my 2 1/2 cents

FB is a much more world wide jet experience... Its so easy to post stuff and share with so many like minded people. I'm afraid this forum is on life support. Its just effortless to post pics on FB. Manufacturers know this and are sharing stuff real time. And they will respond to you questions right away.

Don't quite get the hang up with not being on FB. It is a giant time suck for sure, but it has more new jet content in a day than we get in a month on RCU.

For some of us it's a security clearance nightmare so we just don't bother with it.

Hence your screen name... ;-) Why would it matter on your private devices?

Depending on your level of clearance dictates how deeply you and your contacts are scrutinized. If they have to look into your FB friends friends friends friends, it begins to get complicated and muddy. You might not know that your friends associates are a "prohibited" foreign contact, but how can you prove that since you are technically linked to them via FB.

I know a thing or two about Facebook. If anyone has questions or concerns about Facebook (security, privacy, how to use it) send me a PM and I'll be happy to answer any questions that don't require a signed NDA.

When I retire and no longer need a security clearance for my job I'll join FB. Until then it's just not worth it to me.

That can be a very delicate balance. I can understand why it's not worthwhile for you.

having a page doesn't violate that just don't make your page public and don't discuss sensitive, secret or top secret things.
That being said if your job is hush hush and people seeing things about you or your family could be used against you then probably not worth it.

Facebook is a joke these days anyway. If you are not on the correct side of the isle, you will be banned for just about anything you say for any reason.

Facebook doesn't disable accounts simply because of political leanings.

I post lots of pictures on rcu and just don't see the problem. I will never be on bookface, like going back to the school playground!

How can you track a build on FB? Or archive a build so a person can search?

I don't care to read how people "feel" on their walls. Or see another darn pic of that vegan triple expresso kale latte that was soooooo good. Meh.

But FB is how one of my good buddies makes a living, so go get 'em FB!

Raf, you can create an album and post all your build pictures and comments there. There are quite a few good ones from members of RCU.

I got 3 builds going on my facebook albums. It is a lot easier to upload the photos, They are stored on FB for ever, so its easy to go back an pull up later vs the forums.

I just watched a maiden of Skymaster's1/6 F-18c at Florida Jets via Facebook Live. Facebook is a technology platform. It's the people in your network that make it good or bad (or like high school haha). The upside is you choose who is in your network.

I like all the international modelers who share. We are small potatoes compared to Europe... those dudes are serious about their toys!

Yes the EU guys in any hobby make it a lifestyle compared to most westerners that's no joke!
Trouble with FB is if your not in a circle of friends then you don't know. Also if a company or individual isn't prompt with updates then it's frustrating. That goes for both FB and here and webpages but if you put on an event and then you don't post live content and photos then your doing yourself and your followers a disservice.
Today you must be on top of this aspect of your business and keep people involved and engaged.

Thanks amigo for posting link. The green chicken looked good. A great first outing. smoothe, stable and solid slow flight regime. Guess the steering gave way at the end or did he just run out of room to video due to crowd.

I too do not have Facebook and plan on not having one due to my government job. I don't want an attorney looking at my business and later taking it out of content so they can gain a penny or two, let me take that back, so they can make a few thousand dollars. Attorneys are the biggest scumbags around, specially civil attorneys. I will only post things on forums like this one. So it would be nice to see photos on this forum.

Anyone at FL Jets got a Turbine ME 163? I'm hoping to see one

Also im in the Active Army with Secret Clearance, but you do have to be careful of Facebook. A good buddy applied to be a local cop and was at the last stage were they run a background check, found out he made some racist joke on Facebook 6 years ago and got denied
