Thanks buddy

Sharing another great flight from BMFA Buckminster. Steve Johnson, regular UK RC Show pilot, flies his new A-10 at BMFA National Visitor Centre in Buckminster. This Skymaster A-10 is 1:6.25 scale with length 2552 mm (101.3) and wingspan 2784mm (109.6). Dry weight is 20kg to 22kg (45-48Lbs) and the model needs 13-15 servos. I took a bit of creative licence and added some real GAU-8 gatling gun sound as its unique to the A-10. Steve told me he intends to get a backing sound track together with A-10 live firing to compliment his aerobatic display at shows next year. Looking forward to it !

Luke Metcalf flying this in true scale style at the BMFA Power Nationals 2017. Lightning by name and he flies it like Lightning. I had trouble keeping up with my camcorder. Full after burners and tight turns. TERRIFIC !

Some details of this amazing model.
Built by Trond Hammerstad from Norway from the Airworld Modellbau kit. 9 litres of fuel onboard in two 4.5 litre tanks.
Span: 176 cm
Length: 284 cm

Certified craziness going on here. 200mph+ control line pulse jet. Eh, was slightly frightened standing this close while filming this.

Superb scratch built MiG-29 powered by two micro gas turbine jet engines each with 170 newtons of thrust. It looks especially menacing against the grey skies at RAF Cosford.

Default Top 10 'Essential RC' turbine jets for 2017

Some of the jets I've seen this year have been amazing. They seem to get better and bigger every year. Here's an action compilation of my top 10. Which is your favourite?

Sure it takes skill to fly a turbine RC jet...but it takes even more skill and experience to be able to deal with things when they go wrong. Here Mick Burrell's Hawker Hunter suffers an engine flameout part way through its demonstration flight at the Southern Model Show. Other RC pilots would panic...

Two great pilots flying their big A-10s on the same slot at the Large Model Association East Kirkby Show. One a Skymaster and the other a slightly larger Mibo. Awesome to see them flying together.

Have been wanting to see one of these in action for a long time. I understand that Colin picked his up for a review in RCJI magazine. He opted for the kit so he could install his own K70. First flights at this North London MFC Scale Day. A few flights to get the CG sorted but it flew very well. Filmed in UltraHD/4K at 60fps.

Smoke-EL is a microprocessor controlled smoke generating system that is lightweight, robust, and provides huge volumes of outdoor smoke for aircraft demonstrations. The system consists of a control unit with a G-Force sensor inside, smoke pump, and Fluid tank, and Heating Tubes to provide switchable and G-Force dependent smoke for your aircraft through the strategically placed Heating Tubes. These can be mounted in the aircraft center line, on the wing tips, under the cowling exhaust, or other places to create the effect you want.

Gunter was flying a Krill 35% Extra 300 with 2.6m wingspan. Weight is 16KG. Power system is a Plettenburg Predator 30/6, Master Spin 220 Pro ESC, Gens ace 12S, 10000mAh LiPo, RASA 27 x 13 prop. PowerBox Mercury SRS with 2 x Jeti –SAT2 receiver’s
RC battery 2 x 2800mAh, PowerBox LiPo.

Thomas Lenard was flying a jet turbine engine powered CARF Models Eurosport equipped with the same G-Force enabled Smoke-EL system.
