Default Spectrum Question

Was just wondering if Spectrum is still making the x plus module receivers. I am still using the original DX-18 on most of my jets and it has always worked perfectly so I am not going to update. I see a lot of the new receivers which Spectrum are bringing out which end with the letter T. I'm thinking this is for the telemetry which I don't use. I'm still a fan of just a simple power expander and two life batteries and that's it. So I see that there are now 20 channel receivers, however can these be used with the DX-18 to get my 18 channels or do I still have to try and find an X plus receiver to plug in my x plus module to get the extra 8 channel.

Hello! The "T" receivers are our latest telemetry equipped versions. The 8 and 9 ch versions do allow SRXL connection, this is what the X+8 module connects to.

Our larger Power Safe versions of the telemetry receivers, (9,12,20) all feature SRXL as well. You do not gain much by adding the X+8 to the 20 ch version as this is basically built in. Your DX18 will work just fine on the 20 ch receiver.

please let me know if you have further questions.

Hello Dustin,
Thank you for your reply and help.
So if I buy a 20 channel receiver could I access the 18 channels with my DX-18 or would I be better of with a 10 channel receiver with the x plus 8 module to get my 18 channels.
I do know that usually with a 12 channel receiver you will get the whole 12 channels on the DX-18 however if you connect the x plus 8 module than you would only get 10 channels + 8 channels from the x plus module giving you 18 channels.

With the 20 ch rx you will have 18 channels to use without needing the X+8.

On the (old and new) 12 ch and x+8 with dx18, you actually have 12 ch on the main rx. Aux6 = X1. Aux7 = X2. You can plug servos into either of the ports for the same output. The Aux6 and Aux7 have higher resolution even if X+8 is used.

does this help?

Dustin, will the 12 and 20 channel be full resolution on all 12/20 channels or will 10 be full resolution and the balance be at a lower resolution like when using a 12120 with X+8?

On the 20 Chan, Channels 1-12 are 2048. Channels 13-20 are 512.

On 12 Chan, 1-12 are 2048, X+8 will be 512. This is the same as before.

Still waiting for the new 20 ch. T to put in my already assembled BVM L-39 since 1st week of March. Seems as though some of us should get them sooner but oh well.

I hate to ask this on the Spektrum thread but you're not answering on the G650 thread. Whatever happened to this plane? And now, back to Spektrum...

We have had a drought since November 2016. We cannot fly turbine powered jets when the drought index is 500 or more. A week ago the rain started. Now over 8 inches and coming down daily. I am planning on test flying asap. Right now in Curaçao diving. When I get home and weather permitting, G650 is next in line. Report to follow.
