HI All
As I said, took vacation day to maiden mine. Sun shine but about a 10 mph cross wind, I was wondering if I made the right chose to do it. I did set the CG at 195 MM I found that to be Just right.
I am using a Jetcat P-60 SE , I am also flying off a grass field. It took about 300 ' to lift off. It was rock solid . I wouldn't want anything smaller that a 60 size if your going off of grass.
The trim flight was very uneventful, ( which I like ) I click of Elevator & 2 clicks of Aileron
The Mini handle the cross wind with no problem at all. I did have the Aileron throw set at 9/16, was to sensitive for me. Turned it down to 3/8" & found it to be perfect.
I flew 7 Minute flights with always about 1/4 tank of fuel remaining. I put on 7 flights yesterday.
My personal opinion of the Mini is ,it 's a great looking , easier to fly & in the Jet model world a good value for what you receive.

How hard has this been flown? Can it take full throttle banks like a bandit or bobcat? I think I'm going to order one, just curious how strong it is? How are the gear mounts? If I get one it will be flown on a pretty rough grass field occasoinally.

thanks.

Well since it is built just like the regular T-1 and the T-3 it has no problems with any of that. And you don't have to overpay because of the name on it with these.

You will have ZERO problems on a rough grass field.

This video convinced me there are not any structural issues on this prototype at least.

Can someone snap a few pics around the nose gear well from outside and inside? I am planning on flying this plane in the winter on our grass field. I might 3D print an enclosure for the wheel well so debris doesn't get inside the fuse. Hoping there is enough room. If I do it, I'll make the STL file available to everyone.

I got 3 more flights on mine yesterday. It is really one of my favorite jets. I would not worry about it structurally falling unless you would do something stupid .
I fly off a smooth grass field, no landing gear issues at all.
Can't wait to get my regular T-1 in the air now.

Hello All,
I have received my Mini T-1 via Pacific RC Jet. I am going at it slow, gathering up accessories needed to complete. Powering with the new K-70G2. I know RCU has its issue when it comes to posting photos. That being said, could you post or PM photos of your fuselage interior. Trying to get a layout of where to locate my components. I have read gunradd's comments on battery placement. I also purchased the wiring harness that Pacific. So, looking for guidance in the build out of my Mini T-1 Thanks.

Cheers!

How did it CG with the K-85? Need any added weight? What were you flying with? What did it do to the amount of runway for takeoff and landing? Grass or pavement? Stock fuel tank? Would the K-70 be the perfect match for speed, weight and fuel consumption?

my CG did not change the k-85 is the same can size as the k-60 just way more power I was flying off paved runway in Apollo field it took off it seems like an extra 50 ft quicker power is instant with the k-85 Landing the same our runways 650 ft the plane lands I'd say within the first 100 - 300 ft less than halfway down the runway nothing changed
and yes stock fuel tank ..and top tank full for smoke.

I fly off grass, I would like it to be able to take off and land in under 300 feet. K85 might be the better option over the K70 as long as you can get good flight times and no negative flight characteristics.

Have the fuel system done, Pipe mounted & the engine has been mounted.
Last part that I really hate is mounting the gear door hinges in the front. If I finish that today it just might do the virgin this weekend ( weather permitting ( This is Wisconsin )
Dave
did your kit include the plywood servo shims?

i3dm,
My T-One Models Mini T-1 kit did not include the plywood servo shims? I made mine from various thickness plywood I had on hand.

Cheers!

I'm thinking of getting one can some one tell me what size the main wheels are? Has anyone put a 100 size turbine in one? I fly off a thick grass field.

Thanks Frank

For those of you who have built the plane. What length servo arms did you use? Have two coming, ordering all the stuff now...
