Classic Jets #71
Classic jets was held at Abingdon yesterday, amazing weather, fewer pilots than usual so endless flying all day.
I had the pleasure of several maiden flights including this CARF SG 2010 Hawk All JR 28x PB Royal SRS and a JetCat P-220Rxi. Also the Paratech Viper XXL which has been filling my shop for the last few weeks while the last details were sorted.
Also all JR-28x, Royal SRS and a JetCat P-200Rx
Many more photos to come

Yes, a great meeting, big thank you to Dick and his team, he even arranged the wall to wall sunshine.
With the runway surface heating up causing mini themals, this kept the pilots focused on landing.
Just a wiff of nitro in the air at times, Pym Smith gave his ducted fan Gnat a flight in ideal conditions
Please see the attached photographs.

Steve Prideaux was flying his BVM Super Bandit, it has flown for a number of years, and still in superb condition
The early cold war jets always look good, Aero L-29 - Sea Vampire, Hunter, & Cougar
C17 was one of the Big Boys based near by.

Yes, I enjoy flying everything! But the large models are always sweeter. Most of the maidens that day were larger models, even the FB T-33 with an AMT Pegasus flew really nicely.
Robert's XXL Viper was nice even without the gyro, later flights we tuned in the iGyro and it became rock solid in the thermally conditions. I'm a little behind other people's balance point and it seems perfect, I think most people fly the Vipers nose heavy compared to other airframes since the huge tail makes it a super stable platform.
it was a really good day on Friday, Dick's team run a smooth event. Big thanks to everyone.

Found a couple more, note the interesting cloud pattern, it looks like rows of cirrocumulus or altocumulus displaying that classic "Makerel" sky, that may be a shadow of a contrail on top of the cloud layer too.

Thanks Dave, agree on the size. I have ordered Glider pilots from Tailored Pilots but excuse my ignorance, who/what is YT?
Edit: got it It's YT international, and I have ordered from them before.....Sorry.
