UK members: shipping to UK from US? help :(
Hello Gents,
i bought a second hand turbine from a fellow modeller in USA .
I am located in West Sussex UK but i have no experience regarding shipping from USA.
So any advices from UK members are welcome !
-What shipping method i should choose? USPS First class is the cheapest but box too large so it can only be shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Is this service reliable?
-Also this is a private transaction about a used item obviously .Meaning the box will not have any invoices in. Will i have any problem with customs?Should i declare any specific price?
Thanks in advance for any replies
Cheers

Also consider the cost of insurance.
I have no no idea about shipping from the US but sending a turbine to Germany is only about £15. However if you want full insurance, that can easily jump to £100 if you don't have a business contract with the courier.

Royal Mail. But it depends on the weight and size of the parcel.
My post was more to point out that there can be a huge difference in the shipping price depending on the level of insurance required, rather than the actual cost.

USPS Priority is the least expensive of the bunch and I've found them to be very reliable. FedEx and UPS will charge you an arm and a leg for the shipping plus fees for Customs, Inspections, paperwork etc. and you are MUCH more likely to have Customs decide you need to pay VAT.
Just my experience shipping things back and forth, mostly to Germany from the USA.
