The first pilot from AZ has arrived today for the Southwest. Freddie is in the building. Welcome back. No Freddie didn't have the wrong date, he arrives early every year.

Looks like we may need to get a "Rent A Cop" out there Saturday to direct traffic and break up fights over parking issues.

Well I'm shooting to get out there on Wednesday. But who knows - things can change!... To the folks that are out there already - don't use up all your fuel before the start of the event!!

Never been to the event before, im guessing people are camping at the site, i know they have RV hook ups? My trailer runs on typical 110 volts like your house is there a place I can hook my trailer up? I might can get there early evening Thursday but that depends on work.

Any fuel issues in the area? Been hearing reports of gas shortages in Dallas due to the Houston and Baytown refineries being closed, has any of that impacted the area?

Well, the entire state decided they all wanted to fill up on the same day !!! Yes. there are a lot of stations out of fuel Houston, DFW, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, ect.... The Railroad Commissioner said this afternoon that " There is no shorage or crisis, It is a distribution and delivery problem . Things will be back to normal over the weekend and priced are up .15 to .25 cents and will remain through the next couple of weeks " I paid $2.29 today and Diesel was $2.39.. If what they say is true, everything shold be fine next week for you travels. I would just keep checking as to whats's going on.. It's also Labor Day weekend and prices always go up anyway...

See ya next week !!

Depending on where you park your trailer, there are plenty 110 plugs around. Are you sleeping in your trailer? Also, plenty of 110 plugs in pit area for charging

That's good to hear, we're going to have to travel through some of the previously flooded areas where I know fuel might be hard to come by, so being able to fill up before leaving Waco is critical. We're still working out the details, but we'll be there Thursday, just not sure whether in the morning or later in the day.

Get their when you can. Just like Motel 6, we'll leave the light on for you. Starting Monday, if anyone gets there during the night or we hours of the morning, the gate may be closed but will NOT BE LOCKED.

FUEL FOR JETS-----
I wanted to let everyone know as I did last year, I will go up to the FBO and fill my drum with JET A, I will have a pump on site and can pump fuel. My price will be as it was last year 20.00 for 5 gallons, I make nothing on this, Just helping other modelers who need fuel. My price of 20.00 for 5 gallons is of course based on JET-A staying at its current price, if it jumps due to the Harvey disaster, the price will be what I pay for it, Like I said I am not making anything on it, just helping other pilots who are not local and need fuel.
