35th ANNUAL GREATER SOUTHWEST JET RALLY
#85
It looks like I am going to miss GSW for the first time in a loooooong time. I am very bummed about it. Have family issues with mom as a result of Harvey that I have to address though.
You all have a fun, burn tons of kero and put in a flight for me! Oh and post pictures please!!!
Check Six!!!

Talk about a blast from the past. Tom Cook, myself and others attended the first GSW Jet Rally. Jump forward 35 years Tom Cook, myself and others attend the 35th GSW Jet Rally. Tom Cook is the owner of Jet Model Products. He will be here till Saturday
The first event was held in Lockhart Texas.

Certainly our thoughts and prayers go out to our friends and everyone else in Houston as well as those in Florida. We wish you safety and a speedy recovery.
Now, did everyone forget their camera for this event or is the event going to stay in the stealth mode all weekend. Knowing the cast of characters, I am sure there is something to share.

The 35th GSW is now history. The 54 registered pilots where treated with great weather and good food. Not one turbine crashed during the days of the event. One crashed earlier in the week. There were three mishaps, two foamies and one JMP ducted fan Starfire flying on 72, talk about some nostalgia.
It was great seeing Tom Cook again
A number of the pilots from Florida and the Houston area couldn't make it to the event because of hurricane Harvey and Irma. Let's keep them in our thoughts.
Also on a sad note, George (Doc) Jones passed away this past week. Also keep the Jones family in your thoughts.
Pablo, who lives in the Miami area had to evacuate so what better place to go, the Greater Southwest in Waco. Loaded up his family and made the trip.
Thanks to Larry Garrett and the HOTMAC members for hosting a great show.
Now let's see if I make to the 40th. I hope so, if nothing else just to be a thorn in Scott's side

Thanks to the HOTMAC team for hosting a wonderful event. Flew Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Weather was perfect and just the right number of pilots for an un-pressurized flight line, with continuous flying until sundown. Great flying by all.
Looking forward to the next annual event, plus another Waco play-day anytime soon.
