CARF Mephisto Build thread

Thanks for posting, Dave! It looks great.
I also see that there are no front gear doors. what about the main gear doors? are they still there?
Same upgraded pipe that's hanging from the engine's bell?

No gear doors at all. Saves weight. This one will use a Zimmermann pipe, but same Frank Pipe that CARF sells would come with a full package.

I need to add some turbulators and a piece to the trailing edge of the tailerons, see pics. What can buy locally that will do this? I've seen other people have this mod and it's part of the V2 kit, but I know nothing about how to make these, but can source just about anything.

They are 2mm carbon, but glass is fine. Fit top and bottom. The tube on the TE is like thickening the TE and reduces the chance of flutter.

Depends on the series of your kit. Laminating the two together in the back is the most common, the separated thrust vector unit needs more support.

Mephisto weekend at JMA Sculthorpe event. Steve J is still loving his Mephisto and my P-220Rxi Mk1 still wins the duration (original 7.2ltr tanks!) and slow flight award. Steve says best Sports Jet in the World...he's probably right!

V2 has the option to use the two original tanks, or the single smaller central tank for where 25kg wet weight had to be achieved. The kit does not include a tank so you choose.

That would be Alex's Mephisto and I think he flies around 5 minutes with the single 5ltr tank. I would go with the twin tanks at 6ltrs which is what the guys have here with JetCat P-300 Pro's that are around 310N.
